My daughter was married about 10 years ago. Gas was $1 a gallon then in Houston, so it probably was about /$1.30 for the rest of the country.

Well in NY when I was 16 (10 years ago) it was about .97 per gallon.

I can sort of remember paying about 1.50 a gallon for regular in 1997. I only remember that because That is when I bought my first new truck.

I graduated high school that year, and it was around $1.10-1.15. I remember when I'd seen gas hit $1.50 for the first time, it wasn't until 1999, Clinton's last year as president. That's when it started to rise.

It's always been 128 ozs. Sometimes it seems like more or less, but 128 ozs. has always been a gallon!

Ah,1997 my senior year, gas prices .97 cents/gallon, housing alot cheaper, food cheaper, BUT ALAS!! oil tycoon Bush get into office and everthing has doubled or tripled,yet Minimum wage has stayed the same HMMM......
