I'm trying to reduce my body fat (I'm slightly overweight but not by much) but also build some muscle (like Brad pitt in fight club/ Troy). So I'm trying to lose body fat and also put some muscle on (but not really bulky muscle). Should I be eating carbs and protein right after my workout to help replenish my energy and help repair my torn muscle fibers? Or is this for hardcore body builders/ marathon runners?

Thanks!

well u wont be building muscles if u dont have anything to build them with ..

when u work out u tear ur muscles apart, then when u stop, the muscle needs protein and water to heal (and basically to increase in size) ! if u dont repair ur muscles with nutrients following a workout, its like damaging ur body .. and soon ull be out of tone and shape (like old people when their body and muscles starts to break up) ..

there is an 'open window' following a workout its about 20 minutes immediatly after an excecise, and in this 20 minutes or so you should eat as much as u can of protein and healthy carbs (like fruits and veggies) .. after this open window it will be a little bit late to take any nutreints and the body will start to bulk everything up (store it in liver as glycogen and billy and body as fat) .. so i would say eat carbs before a workout (about 2 hours before) then do ur excercise and follow it up with proteins and fibre .. if u need to loose weight thats a totally different thing ... workouts are muscle gaining excecises but they not nessessarly going to make you loose body fat .. u need to do aerobics for fat burning .. ofcourse a weight lifting workout will burn fat but it will take some time untill u see some changes ...

marathon runners dont eat proteins they eat alot of carbs, its called 'carb loading diet' where they fill their muscles and liver with glucose ready to be burnt in a long run !!

try light weights instead of heavy stuff so u dont get bulky as u said .. to be like brad in fight club is easy !! all u need to do is light excecises with lots of protein and fibre and healthy carbs with few healthy fat (like olive oil)

Drink lots of water, and replenish your energy with organic well balanced meals. Chew well to avoid eating more than you need. Pounds might not come off really fast, but they will stay off when they do.

you should eat before and then work off those pounds or you should eat healthy after and then still workout
