I am seriously considering learing how to do latin dance (like salsa or tango) at a big nearby dance studio to try to socialize with women. I think I would fit in. I used to be a good dancer when I was younger (when I was a teen, I'm 22 now), but I am worried about two things.

1) I have always heard women love to dance, but I am afraid there will be way more men than women trying to learn this stuff, since latin dancing is kind of sexual.

2) I also dougt there would be any women there under 30 years old, since it seems like girls my age nowadays don't do anything but drink alcohol.

Does anyone have any experience with this and know the answer to my concerns?

you are wrong, girls like salsa as much as guys, and even if there are not any girls that you like in your class, you can learn and then go to latin clubs and meet girls.

I am a ballroom dance instructor. It is a GREAT way to meet women and to build self-confidence too. My work hosts a party every week and some times there are more guys, some times more girls. The thing you have to know is WHY people take dance lessons. MOST of our guys are there because they recently got divorced. MANY of our guys are there because they want to find a way to socialize better with women. ALL of our guys are having a blast! Don't limit your dancing to just latin. It's fast and exhausting and it limits the places you can take a date. Believe it or not, women love the classics like Waltz and Fox Trot too. My work has people of ALL ages. Seriously, we get 'em fresh out of high school and fresh from the Bingo hall! Lots of girls in their early to mid-twenties (I'm 28). Yes, we love to drink...but hey, dancing makes you thirsty. I cannot reccommend enough that you learn to dance. Oh, and try to take private lessons--yes they're more expensive but you learn faster and you're not worried about being embarrassed in front of a large group. Go to groups when you're a little more comfortable on the dance floor.

Well, for one you're wrong. Lots of guys say they wanna learn salsa or tango to meet women, very few follow through because it does take a time commitment. I have a friend who learned salsa, he says he's outnumbered on average 6 to 1 women to men.

Also, the ages vary, but don't trip on how old the women are, the older ones might teach you something, and they aren't into the games the younger ones are.

The best thing to do in this situation is to go to the dance studio one night that they have lessons and tell them you would like to to watch, to see if you think it's something that you might be interested in.
Also keep in mind that this is not the end of the step, maybe there is no woman in the dance class that you are interested in, and that is fine, but it opens up doors for you to go to latin dance clubs, and impress the ladies there where you might find someone your age, or get into competative dancing and meet a girl from another studio. The important thing though it not to just dance to meet woman, but also because you enjoy it. if you are just walking around looking at woman and trying to hook up, you'll soon be deemed the creep of the ball and will not get near a lady!
