I'm in my 20s (under 25), and I still live at home (but pay for my room). I came home today after being out of town this weekend, and discovered that my 15-year-old brother knows about my porn DVD collection (mostly "movie" and "straight"), and I think he saw one (or more). I've wanted to move out for years, but don't wanna. I'm embarrased that he knows about the 18 DVDs. Should I just get a lock for my door?

I'm pissed because I knew that he would do that, and didn't want to leave for the weekend because my brother backed out of going with my parents and I (that wouldn't give me enough time to get a lock for the DVDs).

I think my mom knows about at least 1 of them.

Talk to your brother and your parents. Explain you need your privacy, and you don't want to resort to having to lock your door. I'm sure this will make them think, if they want you around they'll respect your privacy. I'm sure your brother doesn't mean any harm - i suspect he just looks up to you and wants to be part of your life. Maybe you should get a better hiding place for anything "risky" though!

First of all if you are going to have that kind of material laying around your bedroom someone is bound to find them. Instead of getting a lock for your room try putting the DVDs into a locked cabinet or safe this way your younger brother can not get a hold of them in the future. If that does not work then talk to your parents about your brother invading your privacy. If all else fails then buy the lock.

your a young adult and if it is legal to own porn at your age were you live then get a strong box with a good lock put the stuff you want to keep private in there and kick your nosy brother in the pants .
Say sorry to your mom for leaving such material were your brother could put his grubby paws on them but if he had minded your right to privacy it would never have happened after all you didn't leave them out he snooped until he found them, And unless he breaks open the box all will be good . after all you have done all you can to stop this invasion of privacy.

Don't be ashamed about what your brother saw. You are a grown man and thats all. Its nothing to be emberrassed about. Besides, porn is a multi billion dollar business so there are many more just like you ;) As for the lock if it makes you feel more secure then I suggest getting one but I think it will cause your lil brother to want to snoop around even more. Just tell him straight up to stoip acting like a punk and stay out of your business. Then ask him "How did you like the porn! Lol! Keep cool and he will respect your space

Talk to your brother. Tell him that he invaded your privacy. Paying for your room or not, that is B.S. Would he want you snooping through his room? Problem is, it is your parents house, so putting a lock on your door is putting a lock on their door. Ask your parents if you can put a lock on your door because of your bro. If it makes them feel better, give them the key and lock your DVD's elsewhere.

Joe, it particularly is hilarious! I laughed out loud! thank you for a good snort...he he. Oh, guy, the different answer nailed it, i think of. What can he do? What might a choose tell him you owed him for? in keeping with threat sometime's hire for the furniture being there. Trespass? Technically you probably did, yet you probably did no longer harm something. no longer well worth his time going to court docket, or his funds. it particularly is not a housebreaking in view which you had no objective of stealing somebody else's belongings (no longer housebreaking in case you're transforming into your person stuff - no reason to dedicate a criminal). i think of you're good. want i will have seen the LL's face whilst he opened that door to an empty apt! LMAO!!!

You should talk to your brother about the movies and have a sit down with the family about your privacy. Are you at home to save $? If you are save it and get out. If not why are you still at home? Are you in school?

Make sure you address it with your parents. You need your space too.

I would get a safe that only you know the combination to, this will allow you to have the appearance that every thing is still cool. But you know that you have a stash for yourself.
