God found me when I was about 7 years old. I grew up in a family that just seemed to hate each other. I remember reading a book in the back of my mother's closet, it was as hidden as I could get from everyone in that house. That is when I first remember feeling the presence that I came to know as God.

Actually, going to church and studying the bible, almost 40 years later, I came to know who that was with me. It was Jesus. I recognized Him when I began studying God's word as the "person" who had been with me so long ago.

I believed in God and Jesus ever since I was five, but I did not understand the term 'personal relationship' until I was 39.

I often tell people that I am glad that I did not die before I understood what a personal relationship was like.

As to Brett A, scientists may not have found a faith gene, but they have not found a spirit either. There are some things beyond the limits of science, and yet science refuses to believe there could be something more.

I wouldn't say I found religion but I became a christian or born again when I was 18 yrs old after having dreams. I use to go to church when I was younger but hadn't gone for ages. then my grand dad took ill and I had to stay with my grand ma while he was in hospital. She was a christian and one day she told me to read a scripture from the bible 1 Sam chpt 3. I read it but did not understand. That night I had a dream that was to change my life for every and I have never looked back that was 25 years ago.

I am a Pastor's Kid so I was born into religion. I still had to make the choice of whether or not I would beleive in what I believe in. It is easier to have a preacher of the Gospel here to guide me when I need help.

LMFAO. At birth. By the time i was 7 i knew the meaning of the word hypocrit without knowing the word existed. They made me do a communion thing at 7. And they made me do another communion thing at 12. Now i believe that all those that have a need to belong to any form of organisation in the name of believing ... are weaklings that just haven't got it in them to just believe in themselves.
Beyond that I've found peace in my chicken universe. And everytime the chicken lays an egg ... another star is born :-)

When I finally knelt down, and submitted myself before God, professing my sins and asking the Messiah to recieve me and forgive me; I found God- not religion. I have always believed, but I have not always followed. Even the devil believes.

Not religion, but I became a Christian 5 years ago when Jesus called me, seriously. I wasn't raised in any faith.
