global warming in itself is a pretty controversial issue. you have ur believers and non believers.
I can see why people believe in it, with all the record highs coming in summer and the polar ice caps melting, but then theres the other side with the unbearalbe cold in the winter and record lows.
i do beleive however that the ozone layer is being damaged a little bit becuase well, we as people pollute the environment everyday and it is unstoppalbe. America loves its cars. if you try to get everyone to not drive for just oneee day, it would help alot, but good luck trying to get that to happen, becuase thats just impossible.
but i beleive global warming is out there, but its just not as a serious issue as it is said to be and it is much exaggerated in movies like "the day after tommaro", thats just taking the effects of global warming past the extreme.

I am aware that Global Warming exists. I don't "believe" in it, because it is not a theory, and therefore does not require belief of any kind.

What I don't get is why it is so hotly debated, other than because of oil companies agendas or Al Gore's. Why is the U.S. one of the last major countries to get on board about realizing it is already starting to affect us?

Also, anything that can be done by humans to prevent the human contribution to Global Warming is going to be something that will clean up the Earth. Why are people so against this? Even if Global Warming did not exist, why wouldn't you want to be able to make the world you live in a better place for yourself, children, grandchildren, etc.? We only have one Earth. What happens if we don't try to change will be a heck of a lot worse than making a few sacrifices for the sake of the planet!

Finaly Apple will take action

THE CONCEPT – " Apple-trees "

The concept is this: On Apple's outstanding internet store, ITunes they will set up the possibility to buy an "Apple-tree". This will be a non-profit project where the income goes to funding the project itself, aside from a small handling charge. (I know that this sounds bad for a commercial enterprise, but I predict that this will really establish Apple as an environmentally conscious company.)

An "Apple-tree" is an audio- and/or a video-file where (hopefully!) Al Gore will thank you for buying an "Apple-tree". He will then explain to you that by buying an "Apple-tree" you are actually buying endangered rainforests in the tropical belt around the world, which by itself is not enough to save the world but is an important contribution. Then he will give you a new tip with every purchase of an "Apple-tree", of what you can do yourself to give the earth the upper hand in the battle against oblivion. There are several enterprises today that are planting or protecting the rainforest, so Apple would mainly be the front-end marketing arm.

I predict that with Apple's impact on society, and how the conscientious consumers want to participate; this would be a way of getting control over the situation. In the near future people would meet at work, in school, in the neighbourhood and at home to compare the number of trees they have "planted".

This is good brand-building. Apple will make even more money while they are saving the planet.

Now, doesn't that sound cool?

Yes. Ever since the Industrial Revolution, when we began to sputter out smoke every second, the earth has been warming. Also, explain why EVERY single government believes it. Explain why the number of category 3 hurricanes has gone up tremendously in the past 30 years. The answer? GLOBAL WARMING. Here are some links so you can find out how to stop global warming.

Ask yourself why the overwhelming majority (98%+) of scientists beleive it, why EVERY government in the world beleives it, why EVERY major oil company in the world believes it and why EVERY CEO of the world's 1000 leading organisations unanimously agreed that global warming was the most serious threat posed to humanity.

These people aren't stupid, they take expert advice from all sides before reaching a decision.

You seem to have already made your decision and this leads me to conclude that you don't understand how global warming works. If you understood you'd see why it's impossible to ignore. A good starting point is the physical properties of the greenhouse gases, this will explain how emissions of GHG's cause global warming. This is a good place to start as there are no sides to it, no aggendas or anything - just elementary physics.

This has been around for a few decades now. It is sad that the deniers of global warming can't put everything together. It only makes more sense if you look at the Mars theory of melting polar caps. Mars is going through not just because of solar activity but because there is no vegetation to absorb the heat energy, after all Mars is mostly an atmosphere of CO2. With deforestation and pollution we are making the problem worse to the point of mans extinction.

There is strong evidence that connects human pollution to global warming.

I think a lot of people think it is BS (obviously). Most people who think global warming is BS live in industrialized nations where polluting is a way of life.

I hope the US continues to pollute so I can drive my car and heat my apartment during the winter time. That's the way life works with today's technology. No pain, no game.

I think it is like Nazi, Germany. The Germans did not want to see the dark side because of their problems. Perhaps people in industrialized nations do not want to see the dark side of their way of life because vehicles, heaters, etc, provide them comfort.

I don't doubt that the climate could be changing. However, I am not convinced that mankind is the primary cause. The earth has always gone through periods of heating and cooling. It has been both warmer and cooler than it is right now. I believe that conservation and sustainable development are noble causes but think global warming is just a tactic used by the left to scare people into action.

Yes, I do believe in Global Warming and I have seen many documentaries to prove this is happening right now....but what in God's name can we do about something like this???
I feel so badly about all the innocent animals that will suffer because of this horrid situation. Nor to mention the Human Beings as well.
