I don't see a conflict with life on other planets. I cannot see God creating such a vast universe with just one planet capable of sustaining life.

While the term dinosaur may not exist, we do not know for sure what was being referred to in Job. Have you seen a behemoth or leviathan?
Job 40:15 "Look at the behemoth, which I made along with you and which feeds on grass like an ox.
16 What strength he has in his loins, what power in the muscles of his belly!
17 His tail sways like a cedar; the sinews of his thighs are close-knit.
18 His bones are tubes of bronze, his limbs like rods of iron.
19 He ranks first among the works of God, yet his Maker can approach him with his sword.
20 The hills bring him their produce, and all the wild animals play nearby.
21 Under the lotus plants he lies, hidden among the reeds in the marsh.
22 The lotuses conceal him in their shadow; the poplars by the stream surround him.
23 When the river rages, he is not alarmed; he is secure, though the Jordan should surge against his mouth.
24 Can anyone capture him by the eyes, or trap him and pierce his nose?
41:1 "Can you pull in the leviathan with a fishhook or tie down his tongue with a rope?

I am a Christian, and I intend to become an astronomer. A part of my research may well include finding life on another planet. In fact, given how small a portion of space the Earth takes up, it's almost impossible (from what I can tell) that life exists no where else in this world.

Why? Paganism says Life springs from nature- And i think other planets are as natural as mine...

Not many people believe the sun revolves around the earth any more if you know what I mean.

by the way Maya. the bible never mentions CATS either. You saying the weren't around to be written about. or were Cats not a very important aspect in the Christian-Christian God relationship?

No, at least not to my religion, Roman Catholicism.

Catholicism is silent on the issue of whether there's life on other planets. It doesn't teach that there is life on other planets, nor does it teach that there isn't.

Is it possible that God created intelligent life on other worlds? Yes, of course -- anything is possible with God.

But is there any evidence that He did? No, there's not.

problem is, we have tested our moon and 6 other planets. and we didn't even find a microbe or even an atom of a living cell.

odd how earth has BILLIONS of forms of life, in all places, hot, cold, ice, fire, normal, etc. yet not one atom even exists anywhere near us on other planets.

makes one come to a logical conclusion, least it should.

Why would that be,, Judaism doesn't claim that life exists only on earth. Hinduism claims life to exist on many planets in many universes.

No because the Bible was written only for earth. It does not include direction for outside earth.

If there is life out there, I hope they did not make the mistakes humans made here.

I am fairly sure that religious leaders would scramble around and re interpret their bibles etc, yet again, to fit the current scientific view. Its quite amusing.

There is no fact so great that religious delusion cannot overcome it.

Christians don't seem to be bothered by the fact that the Bible never mentions dinosaurs.

No. I think that even when presented with reality they will still stick their head in the sand and cling to their false beliefs.
