Headaches like that are caused by too much caffeine and caffeine withdrawals. However, I don't think that's the primary cause of your headaches. There are numerous causes and types of headaches. They range from tension, alleriges such as sinus infection, colds, flu. , allergies, migraine, stress, menstruation-related and menopause related, and depression; eating too much sugars or hyperglycemia, or low blood sugar or hypogylcemia;- hunger; or a high blood pressure.and brain tumors or cerebral aneurysms.

Just a few minnor comments especially for all these ppl here...
Yes it does sound like coffee withdrawl, but it cannot be since to get hang up to cafein you need a few months-years of abuse (a cup in the morning does not pass as abuse).
On the other hand if for some strange reason (I've seen wierder stuff) it is coffee withdrawl, and you do decide to take some painkillers, make sure they are cafein free, cause many of them contain cafein (cafein is a strong pain killer).
best of luck
(chances are there is another cause, let's say... ANXIETY!!! of the top of my head now...lol)

Substitute Green and White herbal Teas in the morning, its healthier and boosts your immune system( you wont be getting everybodys colds and flus) plus it has a natural lift without headaches when not drinking it. Its a better alternative. I used to drink coffee alot and had similar issues now its green tea everyday hot or cold I love it! There are many varieties to choose from in the stores. Its becoming very popular.

Its caffeine withdrawal, I got them a couple summers ago, it lasts a few days and you get over it, Its because caffeine opens up blood vessels in your brain, thats why Excedrin migraine has caffeine in it, because it is very good for treating headaches, but you can also become depend on it to not have headaches, but its a very light dependency it will leave in a few days.

Headaches can be caused by minor problems
like eyestrain, lack of coffee or more serious reasons
like head injury, brain tumors, encephalitis and
meningitis. Taking painkillers continuously can
have harmful side effects, so it is better to
modify your lifestyle. More information available at

Your headaches are probably from withdrawal from caffeine. You stopped too abruptly. Better to gradually reduce the amount of coffee each day till you are completely off it.

it's the lack of caffiene that your getting from not having the coofee. caffiene like any other addicting things will have side affects such as a headache. you need to ease off the coffee for a while and the headaches will go away. your body will adjust.

Sounds like you are having caffiene withdrawals. Either get back on the habit or take some asprin and wait for it to take care of itself.
