Those have been controversial lately, but I wouldn't make a complaint for a few reasons. One, antidepressents can make someone more suicidal, especially in the teen years. Infact, almost everyone I've known has had some bad reaction to one at some time -- you have to find the right one for you. Two, there have been little findings from my knowledge on the two together. If you weren't feeling right, it's your (and parents) responsibility to go into the hospital and be demanded to have your meds changed. So, that would be something they'd say. Third, putting in a complaint will make doctors not want to touch you in the future -- they'll be very wary because of being afraid of getting sued because of a complaint.

Maybe it was their fault -- but from what I have seen and experienced, its more than likely was the antidepressant and your young age. Prozac (if it was that) does that a lot... and I'm sure their court date is still going on lol

Good Luck!

Put into the search box at google.com or yahoo.com the name of the antidepressant and the medical name of depo. If there are findings that the two lead to a worsening of depression, those findings will come up. If this a well known problem, there will even be the names of law firms fighting this combination.

For there to be a successful suit you need to prove that when you were given this combination at 16, it was known IN THE MEDICAL LITERATURE that this combination could lead to an increase in depression and suicidal thoughts. You or your lawyer will need to get a hold of the material on side effects of the two when you were 16.

i had the depo injection when i was 18-worst mistake of my life. i suffer pmt anyway but it made me aggresive violent suicidal-it was awful and although i only had it once i reckon it took about 3 years for it to wear out of my system, maybe even longer. i think he probably put you on anti-depressants to combat the effects of the depo jab. in which case he knew the jab may cause these feelings and should never have recommended it-especially not for a 16 year old girl. if you were not in a serious relationship then he should have been advocating the use of condoms and the pill.

Hi -

I was put on anti-depressants late last year and the doctor didnt ask what pills i was on. Your doc should have had a look on your records before giving you the tablets.

Go to your doc and talk it through - thats all i can reccomend.

Hope i helped

what's the point in trying to make a complaint about someone when no harm was done?after all you're here to relate what's happened!?
have you ever tried reasoning that you could have been mixed up in your growing up years?
surely contraceptive was prescribed for a reason, as was the anti depressants! isnt it better to try and work so you better your health and how you are feeling, than making war with a person that tried to be of help...??

You will need to talk to another gp to figure that one out. And yes if the gp agrees with you, you can file a complaint.

C'mon- you're ok... leave it be.... no one knows what effect what is going to have on who... especially with teens. We all go through this--- if we're messing with our hormones when our hormones are messed naturally.

You didn't want to get pregnant- that's what happened.
