Do you find that your breathing out of both nostrils or just one. I notice with me, it's always one. Is it just me, or do you all have the same 'problem'? If not, what can I do to correct it, I blow my nose all the time, everyday. Thanks.

You might have a case of deviated septum if you don't breathe normally out of each nostril. And if you have to blow your nose frequently, you have a case of allergic rhinitis or sinusitis. It would be a good idea to see an EENT for proper evaluation. Septoplasty which normally is a plastic surgery is covered if done under the medical necessity of a deviated septum. This type of surgery is also called SMR (submucous resection)

Well personally I only use one nostril for breathing at a time...my mom says she uses both. I always wondered about that, but i dont know if it's really a health problem.

stop blowing your nose! If you feel there is some obstruction or it is stuffy- either spray with saline drops generously- or wash your face and splash lots of water on your face and let nose drain or lightly massage each side of your nose like on your cheek but close to the nostrils. you can usually feel relief instantly. Beware of medicated drops- they just make you dependent upon them and the condition usually worsens.
It helps if you practice deep breathing by breathing in through your nose gently and holding it and then breathing out through your mouth slowly holding your lips just slightly open. repeat and work slowly toward doing this 20 times in a row. take it easy. good luck.
