First it depends on why you had the injection. Second if a joint, how many injections you have had into same joint. I had Golfers elbow, although never played Golf, assume I played Nocturnal Golf while sleeping? Anyway first injection worked wonders, second injection worked wonders but for a shorter time span and third injection worked wonders but for a even shorter time span. Then they refused to do anymore injections stating new evidence suggests this really does not help. So I went to Pilates and they do this exercise where you press up off the ground 'sideways, balancing on your arm and foot. Yeah right, what with Golfers elbow forget it. However they insisted I take small steps and low and behold Golfers Elbow went and not a problem since TG.
I recall being IN Hospital when a Student Doctors arrived with kidney dish and syringe, pulled the curtains around me????? No had no idea what was about to occur to asked. Seems I have a effusion on my knee and she was their to 'drain it'. I replied 'Umm no, risk of injection into my knee and then it will be worse, thanks but no thanks!' That was 1994, now 2007 and the knee is holding.
Could be you are now immune to the cortisone!
