I hate to break it to bronzebabe and you, but wether you like it or not your daughter will be dating long before she tells you about it. However, dating is normal and good life lessons for kids. As to myspace, it should be fine as long as she uses it appropriately. Try talking to her just about myspace and making sure she knows the risks etc. As long as you talk to her as an equal and don't tell her what to do, rather suggest what might be safe, she should accept what you have to say.

Hey! First off a little background! I'm 16 and my mom is very liberal with what i do or don't do. @ 1st she hated myspace, but i gave her my password and let her read anything she wanted, later she told me to change it so i didn't feel that she was invading my privacy. Make sure that her profile is on private which will only allow her friends to see her pics and info. do not allow her to say where she lives or hr name. I have that i live over the rainbow! lol. As far as the bf goes, I've had some guy friend since i was 12 or 13 my mom always makes sure she knows and trusts them b4 i can go anywhere, she also meets their parents. I think that it is great you trust your daughter but you don't let her exceed her limits! Hope this helps!

Yes there is a thing as too young to date. But anyways on to the other point if she wants to use myspace she should be able to since she is 14. So what does having a myspace account have to do with every guys liking her? So she has people comment and send her messasges on myspace big deal. Myspace is as safe as your daughter is willing to make it but thanks to your lose values she may have a child at 15 with what information you gave since you believe that they should be dating at 14.

I think being involved in her myspace life is important. It can be a wide open place and she could have some exposure to people with ill intentions. She needs your guidance to keep her safe. I know it can be tough because you may not be welcomed by her. However, in the end, the message is that you love her and want her to be safe and well.

As long as you keep an open relationship with your daughter and keep an eye on her. My daughter has a myspace...however so do I ....I love it and my daughter and I communicate on there as well as my 19 y/0 son. Trust is a two way street....so lay the guidelines down and let her know that if she breaks that trust there are consequences.

i think 14 is old enough to have a boyfriend, with strict rules-- i know of alot of 13-14 and 15 year old girls in my SMALL town who are now mommies, is that what you want for your 14 year old daughter? as far as the my-space thing, i think it has swept this country like a black plauge, and some people. not just teenagers, have become obbsessed with it

you seem to be doing fine, just make sure she stays out of trouble and make sure she knows the rules. Having a boyfriend would only be bad if he is using her and corrupting her other then that its all good.
Myspace is only dangerous if kids let it be dangerous, make sure she knows NOT to meet up with strangers over the computer, talking to them doesnt matter but when you tell them where you live and meet up wtih them thats when you get raped. just make sure she knows the rules and doesnt do anything stupid and

I think so long as you closely monitor her profile, make her be 'your friend' or give you her password so that you can keep tabs it should be ok. Also, I would INSIST on her keepign her profile private and only allow people that she knows in the 'real world' to be her friend. GL!
