When I take two pain pills yes. oxycodine. I don't get a drugged feeling, I just get pain reliief. I get enough relief to be myself again. I sparkle, I am joyful. I have a bounce in my step. I find myself Putting on make up and looking pretty and ready to go out. Without pain pills I stay in bed feeling depressed.
Doctor says take more pain pills. I am scared of addiction. I don't want my happiness to depend on painpills

when you have pain it is your body's way of telling you to rest, or to get medical care. As long as your doctor has diagnosed you and has given you pain medication it is OK to take it. The danger comes if you are taking it to tune out and vegetate.

If you have long term chronic pain you need to find alternative ways to deal with the pain and or ways to avoid setting yourself up for the pain. You also need to be living a life and if the pain pills help you get out and do things that you enjoy, then with your doctor's blessing, so ahead and take what is perscribed to you.

If you are truely taking the Oxycontin for pain relief and not to get a buzz (which sounds like what you are doing) then it is OK and if your doctor says to take more then that is what you should do. I too fell into a situation just like yours. More than 1 time. And I got to feel like OXY was my friend. Only guess what ?? I became an addict. I am an addict. And boy did I get myself into trouble like you are doing......be very careful with this drug......it will reach right out and grab you and before you know it you will be hooked. Sure it is wonderful to feel all perked up.....but trust me when I say be careful.......the withdrawls are a nightmare. Been there done that and I do not want to go there again. It is not worth it!!!!!

pain medications do not create addictions as long as you are taking them for actual pain. The addiction comes in when people take them for a buzz and not to alleviate pain. They are intended to be used to control pain, there is nothing wrong with that.
Of course, uncontrolled pain causes depression, it stands to reason that it would. As long as you have pain, and need the meds to be free of it, then take them, you won't become addicted.
