I live near Irwindale Speedway in California and they sometimes have figure 8 races. Do they literally mean the track is a figure 8?

How big is the track ? I know in Rockford, Illinois they have a 1/4 mile track that they race on, When they race the figure 8 they use the middle of the track and it used to be really cool to watch and see how many could make through and not hit.

Your low in fee style of racing to get into is drag racing. each and every drag strip has a highway classification the place you are able to take your "daily motive force" to the song and be aggressive. With the bracket racing format (some time against you combatants time) any vehicle could win the championship. No specific kit to purchase, no changing tires & bent rims a week, no weekly A arm and suspension upkeep, no physique panel replacements and you will strengthen you vehicle's overall performance as your funds enables.

Back in the early fifties, my grandfather raced in those kind of races. It was for the club that became NASCAR. He actually rolled his car from a collision in the middle!
