I know people usually say listening to soft and smooth music helps you sleep easier. Some say techno or trance.
Can someone be a little more specific and tell me which type is the best?
Thanks

I have a cd of 'relaxation and medition' or something like that. It has sounds of oceans, soft rainforests stuff like that. I know at Target they have a display usually that has that kinda stuff. I love it. Its really soft and for me promotes good dreams and helps me relax to fall asleep. Other than that if I listen to regular music I can only sleep if its Korn or Slipknot (IDK why) in fact usually when slip knots put on it makes me tired now lol

Try the "Lifescapes" series from Target.
Instrumental is the best, because the music allows your mind to relax and unwind. May I suggest the "Just Relax Maui" CD. You can also by a 2 disc cd/dvd set for just a little more and either listen to the music or listen and watch beautiful scenes of Maui.

It's really a personal thing and you need to find your own. I knew a baby that, while his mother was pregnant with him she listened to Iron Maiden music, after he was born he could only fall asleep while listening to Iron Maiden music.
There is no general "best" kind of sleepy music. What works for one person can very well stimulate the next.

I prefer classical because it usually falls into predictable time sequences (like waltzes are in 3/4 time etc -) and lets my brain follow the cadences. I would try listening to Andre Rieu "Dreaming" CD. Good intro into classical.

Personally, I think Brian Eno's ambient music is good for relaxing to. As weird as this may sound I can fall asleep very well to Hawaiian music!

Much of the "New Age" music is restful.
Simple classical music (Chopin, a collection of Adagios)
Choose something that doesn't excite you or make you want to sing along.

It depends on the state you're in but I would say anything from light jazz (sax) to classical piano.

Hey, I can go to be listening to Clapton's Layla sometimes!

I like country or really softbeat songs. You can become soothed. Maybe try light oldies, or make a song list on your computer!
