A new mexican joint just opened here in town (much like a Chipotle), and it's called "Burrachos." Someone told me that "burrachos" means "drunk" en espanol. Is this true?

That's very cute. It's a combination of burros and borrachos.

Burros means dumb people (or donkeys), and borrachos means "drunks."

It may also refer to a combination of burrito and borracho. In my home town, there is a resaurant called El Burro, so it's common to use Burro for the name of an establishment.

This is probably a Mexican restaurant that also sells beer and wants to market a fun atmosphere. Sounds fun.

The Spanish word "borrachos" means "drunk" (adj) or "drunks" (n). I have never heard the word "burrachos," but I am guessing that it is a made-up word, based on "burro" (donkey) and "borrachos" (drunks).

I´ll check back to see if anyone has a better answer. Good luck.

Can't answer for certain, but my friend used that word and said that's what it meant. So, that's 2 for 2?

To put it in context, he was yelling at his neighbor about something and said, "burracho!" And I asked what it meant, and he said "drunk!" And I think the point he was trying to get across was, "you're drunk!". He doesn't speak Spanish. Maybe try babelfish.altavista.com.

It's actually spelled borrachos. Borracho is an adjective meaning drunk but you can also say "borrachos" to mean that the people you are referring to are drunkards.

Yes burrachos means drunk people. Un hombre burracho is a drunk man and if there are more drunks it´s burrachos.I guess the mexican joint wants all their customers to get drunk so they can earn more money, who knows, or perhaps it´s just a joke.I hope so.

Yes, but the spelling seems wrong. Should be Borrachos I think.
