Yes, it is possible your dog was in heat or going into heat when she was spayed. It takes several weeks for the hormones in her system to disappear. She should be fine.

If she was pregnant when she was spayed, it's not uncommon. Her body thinks it had the puppies and is trying to supply them with milk.

((The same thing can happen to a human female if she has an abortion. The body thinks she's had a baby, and her breasts can fill with milk.))

The dog will stop lactating as soon as her body figures out there are no pups nursing.
