I was a Marine. I went to Iraq twice. I don't believe in the war. now Afghanistan, there was a war I believe in. Hell, I traded places with someone so I could go to Afghanistan. Didn't much care for Kosovo either.

There are many servicemen, including marines who don't particularly care for the war. But the quote a famous poem,

"Forward, the Light Brigade!"
Was there a man dismay'd?
Not tho' the soldier knew
Someone had blunder'd:
Their's not to make reply,
Their's not to reason why,
Their's but to do and die:
Into the valley of Death
Rode the six hundred."

"The Charge of the Light Brigade"
Alfred, Lord Tennyson

My first question would be... what is your basis for stating that the Marines, singled out believe in the war? I ask this not to be argumentative; however ALL of our Armed Services branches are involved.. and if that is the basis for your reasoning that activity there constitutes support.. then I am curious as to why the Marine branch was singled out. Being there is not necessarily a BELIEF in the war. Wherever you work... does that mean that you believe in everything that you do? Unforutately people do no enjoy happy time stories.. cage fighting is so popular simply because a vast majority of Americans love human pain... therefore the news does not get high ratings by broadcasting the good... Many people would say that in addition to a war, there are several positive things going on at the lead of our military. BUT, as many of those that have already answered... no one wants to address the good... They want to exercise their freedom of speech, which is one of many things the military has protected & provided.. and then many others want to blindly answer though they have never set foot on foreign soil and never truly defended their right to what they enjoy. Marines are one branch and we should ALL be thankful for the men & women that have answered the call and have sacrificed for us. No one 'believes' in war - but there are times when we have to do it in order to protect what so many enjoy.

The Marines believe in loyalty to country. They believe in protecting your right to your opinion. now like Paul Harvey and "the rest of the story". The Marines believe in a war our govt sees fit to fight. They don't believe in Police Actions that are fought by politicians. They believe in wars because then they are allowed to win at ALL costs. Police Actions are fought will Bull Sh** rules of engagement that gets them killed for votes. We aren't able to control the lib politicians so we just fight for love of country in Police Actions! We never lost a battle in Viet Nam. The politicians lost their Police Action! USMC 60-68

Nobody believes in war. Nor do we want to. What the Marines believe in is to do anything for thier country and the people within to prevent another 9/11.

Because they took an oath to protect our country from enemies both foreign and domestic.

If you do not believe this is a Jihad and that the Muslims and the Arabic world are your enemy then, you have a much greater problem then the fact that the Marines support the Iraq war.

Who said they believe in it? They are doing a job ~ a job that they are trained to do ~ military is taught not to question the commander in chief (president)

Whether we are for the war or not ~ we need to be for the troops.

SUPPORT THE TROOPS!

Do their personal beliefs matter if they take an oath to follow orders and die for their country if need be?
