then do we even need a Devil at all? Aren't we doing a bang up job of deceiving ourselves already without him?

Yes, people are deceived because they don't want anyone to tell them that there are standards of right and wrong.

From my perspective as a Humanist, yes, we humans are doing a perfectly bang up job of deceiving ourselves without a Devil. And while homosexual acts are certainly forbidden by some religions, I see no reason to condemn them myself. Homosexuality harms no one whatsoever.

God did not create homosexuality. This was created by man himself. The Bible states that homosexuality is a sin.
Romans 1:18-32
1 Corinthians 6:9-11
1 Timothy 1: 9-11
Homosexuality is the work of the devil. He wants as many people as he possibly can to enter hell.

1. Forbidden by whom, exactly? The Bible condemns homosexual acts, but it does NOT "forbid" them. Nor does it instruct anyone else to forbid them.
2. I have no interest in sharing your fantasies about surviving death. I will not survive my death, and you will not survive yours. But you don't want to hear about that.
3. Neither I nor anyone else has EVER seen The Devil. This is because The Devil doesn't exist.
4. Yes, indeed, you ARE doing a bang up job of deceiving yourself.

The devil is the great deceiver and the father of lies. He is the one who deceives people into believing such lies.

No, we don't need a devil, and we don't have a devil.

It depends which side of the fence you are on exactly who is being deceived.

There are religions that do not condemn people to hell for being different.

homosexual acts are a sin just like fornication or adultery, only the blood of Jesus can save us from our sins.

Sin is sin. No sin is greater than any other, nor will it bar a person from entry into heaven.

Your eternal destiny rests on a single decision: accept or reject Jesus' gift of salvation.

God would not keep someone out of heaven unless they were unrighteous. However, He does say homosexuality is unrighteous and is not a choice but a sin.
