Weather your christian, muslim, buhddist, atheist or whatever;why do you believe what you do?
Me:
1.Before I was even saved,I had an experience wirth God,that I dont think I'll ever forget, unless I get amnesia or something
2.I got saved at age 12&can honestly&truthfully say I've experienced the real presence&power of God.
3.Not only am I a real miracle myself(age 2 doctors told my parents there was a good chance I would die or be a vegatable at best;but I'm obviously here today),but I've actually seen real miracles&blessings&have done a few myself.I would be a fool to deny I dont know God is real, cuase I've seen, experienced&done enough to know that He is real.
Now what about everyone else, whatever your faith or lack of faith, why do you believe what you do?

After looking at all the religions and different beliefs I figured people believe a lot of rubbish. However, I needed to find out how we were created and why. The most logical two options are evolution and christianity. I've figured that out of the two christianity is the most rational.

I became one of those born-again Jesus Freaks of the 1970s. This was the Calvary Chapel movement that started in Costa Mesa, California USA. I was by myself when I asked Christ into my heart, because I figured if He IS God, He can meet me where I am at and not at a church. And He did, in a BIG way. Been walking and talking to Him for 37 years now.
I accepted Jesus because I wanted to know God personally. Later, the more I read His Word, I was convinced that God truly did write the Bible through the hands of man. And He proved it!!

I don't believe. There is no proof of god as there is no proof of unicorns. Most things can be explained scientifically. And more and more things are being learned everyday. I do not need god. I do not need the fear of hell to be a good person. I do not need a god to tell me what is right and what is wrong. I have empathy for my fellow humans. I do not need god to show me that I'm special. I can see the vastness of space and realize that I may be an insignificant little speck, but I am alive. Everything that I love and think and believe is within me. The past the presant and the future.

I am a Satanist and I will tell you why. For years I was a christian and was plagued with nothing but drug abuse, mental anguish, suicide attempts, etc. I begged god to help me. he would not. There is this homeless woman that stays by my house and when she's not cussing the cars that drive by she is begging god to help her. Well, shes been there for three years now. Where is god? why won't he help her? It states that god loves us as his children why do the homeless starve? If i saw my son on the street I would feed him, cloth him.and what kind of father would send his own son to be tortured. i wouldn't. So, jesus can keep his salvation I want no part of it.

I believe what I do because I studied it and made it my own.
2 Corinthians 3:2 but we have renounced the underhanded things of which to be ashamed, not walking with cunning, neither adulterating the word of God, but by making the truth manifest recommending ourselves to every human conscience in the sight of God.

i am an atheist with deist thoughts i guess you could say. I lost my faith in Christianity due to numerous reasons, the two biggest being what i find to be the absurdity of needing faith and also the idea of an eternal hell.
As for my beliefs of our existence, i think we either simply exist, or there is an intelligent 'lifeform' of some kind.

I'm not sure why I believe what I believe.
I have read and learned about science since I was very young, went to church ever since I was a baby, and studied other religions in college classes and through independent study.
The first "Hell, Fire and Damnation" sermon I heard made me doubt conservative Christianity. Studying world religions have strengthened my own religious beliefs.
Who knows?

I try not to believe a damn thing without good evidence.
I did my research, looked into what was being touted, and made my decision rationally and based on hard data. Nothing I've seen since has done anything but confirm the correctness of that decision.

Didn't bother reading the too-long ramblings - I am only answering the question.
Because I have the freedom to believe what I choose, and I, unlike so many, have experienced many different ways, beliefs and religions before I made up my mind.

Because it is supported by evidence. That means data which is available to anyone that looks for it. I believe in nothing unless there is evidence for it, and that includes any sort of god or supernatural activity.
