i am confused, it seems that you all think that sex is a bad thing, a sin, even, - i realise we are each entitled to our own opinions and beliefs - and mine is i think God made sex feel good, because it is a good thing. it is a gift.
maybe i am wrong and you guys all like sex to - hmmmm ????
(please do not be offended if i am wrong in my assumption that the answers i have read are not from Amercian Christians...it is an assumption only, due to the language use )

Keyword is American, Emma, not Christian. It's our upbringing and experience. We were pretty Puritanical in our founding colonies and did not bring some of the more liberal Euro approaches with us on the Mayflower. Less than a couple of hundred years later though, we started working on that, especially in Nevada where Queen Sex reigns in sex friendly environments we refer to as "cat houses" or legal prostitution "ranches." Prostitution is legal and respected in 15 of our 17 counties in the state of Nevada and surely you must have heard of Mustang Ranch and/or founder Joe Conforte forced to flee to South America because of the IRS.
You are correct, at least some of us guys like sex and several of the women too. There are probably three more sexual positions outlined in the Kama Sutra than there are cults and religions in the US, and since our population is increasing not by bread, illegal immigration or politics alone, we'll be here for ya when the dust has settled.

There may be a few oddballs that consider all sexual acts "immoral" because they are pleasurable, but this is not Christian teaching. Being an American doesn't matter: it doesn't affect orthodoxy. Sex was created by God as a special celebration of love between a man and his wife, and is supposed to be enjoyed in that context. ANY other context is wrong, no matter how much fun it may be.
I'm a Christian American woman, and I'm married. My husband and I both frolic with extreme abandon, without guilt!
The "all pleasure is bad" teaching comes from Greek Stoicism, not Christian teaching. Somehow, stoicism infiltrated Christianity many centuries ago, and it keeps showing its ugly head every now and again. Real Christianity is not stoic!

It's because it's in the bible. Love only one women or man. But the true real life reason is because sex feeling good is a vestigial human characteristic. It has to do with natural selection. The only way good genes are passed on is if offspring is made as much as possible and with as many people as possible. That's why you are attracted to people with good genes (strong, cute, good work ethic, stuff like that) but its vestigial which means it doesn't apply anymore. It's just like sugar. We used to need it long ago. That's why were attracted to it but we don't need it anymore because we have other forms of glucose and carbs. Now its bad for us. Same with sex. STD's, babys being thrown away, mothers become sick or overwhelmed becuase of too many kids, unfaithfulness because of vestigial lust, over population. It's not good anymore. Drugs feel good. Do you think God put plants like that on earth as a gift?

Sex isn't bad if it's between a husband and wife. Sex is a wonderful thing created by God, so the world can go on. He didn't intend for sex to be something ugly and dirty (prostitution, incest, fornication, etc.) These acts of sex are inappropriate behaviors.

american christians first of all dont believe that sex is bad. they think sex before marriage is bad or sex with someone besides your spouse is. sex is a good thing and god gave it to us to continue the love between a husband and a wife and yes it is a gift. it is not a sin if you do it the right way and with the right person

in case you have been to look at a healthful couple, while they have intercourse, there are chemical compounds launched which reason very reliable emotional bonding to happen. that is amazingly authentic for women people. while the couple breaks up, that is often devasting, fairly for the female. those emotional scars can final an entire life. If a pair is in an enduring committed relationship, that is not possibly to be an argument. initially, marriage replaced into suppossed to be for existence, yet that would not look the case those days. people get married and divorced on the drop of a hat. as some distance because of the fact the objective of having a new child is going. This is going decrease back to God's covenant with Abraham, and His promise to make Abe's descendants as multiple because of the fact the stars. with the intention to maintain this covenant their have been some regulations to insure this promised result. The regulations in question stipulate while it replaced into allowable for a guy to have family together with his spouse, and it replaced into no twist of fate that it purely so handed off to be while she replaced into ovulating. besides the undeniable fact that, the Mozaic regulation in the old testomony besides as Paul's letters in the hot testomony additionally state that one shouldn't refrain from having intercourse with one's substantial different while they request it. the 1st command God supplies to guy is to be fruitful and multiply. So the bible would not say that intercourse is a bad factor. It does, besides the undeniable fact that talk proper to the misuse of intercourse, and it supplies multiple examples. inclusive of incest, bestiality, rape, frigidity, necrophelia, prostitution, homosexuality, adultery , fornication etc. all of them aside from frigidity are remarkable strategies to settlement and unfold ailment. that's what the scientific and the scientific community could say approximately it. I shouldn't say remarkable, the observe they use is 'maximum sexually efficient'.

You have a valad point.I think its the way its worded sometimes.
Sex is a gift from God,yes. But intended for married couples.Due to unwed pregnancies, gay sex acts, sex crimes, and incest, child molestation, etc. On and on.Two people(m & f)unite, bear fruit(have children). Its supposed to be good, gradifying.Over the centuries it got turned 'dirty',simply by being taken out of marriage and put somewhere else.

There is a small amount of people who seem to speak for any whole group but are usually not accurately portraying the thought of the whole group . Most Christians I know love sex but feel its just not something that needs to be talked about . I would bet thats a big part of the oposition to gay rights . They might not care but dont want a parade infront of their kids . Just my opinion .

Sex of itself is not bad. Sex is the way we have to procreate and make children.
Sex is a gift from God, meant for married couples.
What is bad is when kids start doing it. When there is unprotected sex done only for the sex and never mind the relationship that needs to be there first.
Sex was not meant to be given away to a different partner every night.
Put it into the right context, and sex is wonderful.
