I'm 40, 5'4" and 135 pounds. I wear a size 12 in jeans. I look good and am at a very healthy weight. For many years, I weighed 100 or less and wore a size 1 or 2. I also felt horrible and looked sick.

So, comparing you to me, you are also at a very healthy weight.

I'm sure you look fine, but be sure to remember that it's better to FEEL good.

Taylor, Now YOU LISTEN TO ME!!! Some of these people on here have NO life of thier own so just want to spread hate. I am a nurse and know that most women are average size 12 to 14. You are a tall girl and God made you beautiful. If you were a size 7 like some jerk suggested at your height you would look sick. Just eat healthy, drink lots of water and exercise. If you choose to loose weight ask for a doctors advise and suppervision and NO WAY would it be 40 lbs. Women are all built differantly, are bones weigh more then men due to our pelvic/hip bones for child bearing and also we have breast weight to consider. So I think you are probably perfectly perportioned for your height. Tyra Banks has said that since she has stopped modeling she weighs about 165 lbs. She has also said that her weight during modeling was unhealthy. Who cares what others opinions are, does that make them right? Ask your doctor and look inside yourself. That is what matters! This obsession with the scale is why we have such a crisis with young girls dying from eating disorders. Also, muscle weighs mor then fat so you may be smaller and more toned and look better then some who actually weighs less. Well, hope I've said enough but a few of these comments really upset me. Now, you GO GIRL!!

Okay so...I looked it up and this is what I found.
If you are small framed you should be 129-142, if you are medium framed you should be 139-153 and large framed you should be 149-170.
To find your "frame" size the easy way you would take you thumb and forefinger around your wrist. If your finger and thumb overlap you are small framed. If they just touch tip to tip you're Medium and if they are separate you are large.
All of this information is trivial anyway. What really matters is what you see when you look at yourself. If you are not happy then you should do something about it. Ask your self this...When I go to the pool am I comfortable and having a good time or am I spending my time covered up and worrying what others are thinking?

Are you healthy? Can you walk without gasping for air? Do you eat good things for your body? Do you get regular exercise, or are you on the couch eating ice cream while you watch T.V.?

I think these questions are much more important. After all, a person who weighs 100 pounds and can't breathe when they walk to the mailbox is not as healthy as someone who weighs 200 pounds, but goes to the gym everyday to work out.

No-one here can really tell you. You can't tell if you are carrying too much body fat from just your height and weight, you would need to have a body composition test to see hwo much of your weight is from fat and how much is from lean mass.

Differences in build and amount of muscle mass can affect your weight. And clothes size doesn't dicate your health either. As long as your waist is not over 32 inches, this is considered healthy.

There are some comments here that you need to just skip over, because they are from 'ignorant' people (hint hint) who either don't know what they are tlaking about or just love to find fault in others.

Take care : )

Yes thats ok. Feel good about yourself! Make sure you are not eating like an average 14 year old. Plenty of fresh veggies, fruits, lean proteins, nuts, soy, fiber rich foods like bran. 8-8oz of water. Exercise regularly. Even with a school sport or dancing. Less tv more activity. Get your friends involved. Very Very Very Little Junk food! ie pizza, burgers, chips, soda, candy.

I would suggest working out. Running is a good way to go. Don't overeat but PLEASE don't starve yourself. That is not a good method.

Remember muscle weighs more than fat. So, when exercising adds pounds but the waist has decreased, don't worry and don't stop. It's a good habit to continue exercising. It leads to a strong heart and good lungs.

According to estimated BMI, your weight range should be around 128 - 162 lbs.

But.. you may have not stopped growing. In that instance, your weight should be okay.

Are you eating healthy and exercising?
