Actually, there isn't much that you can do. Vets generally don't do anything except give a de-wormer which almost always works except in worse-case scenarios. Believe me, if you were in a worse-case scenario, you'd know it!

My suggestion is not to do anything unless your cat is throwing up excessively or really white on the gums. If so find an emergency clinic. If your cat is not showing any signs like this then wait till tuesday take your cat and a fresh fecal sample to the vet. Cats are highly susceptible to medication and dips, etc... Especially if it is a young cat. The De-wormers you get at a store don't get all worms and some cases don't work at all.

I think it will have to wait until tuesday, unless you're sure there aren't any vets open in your area until then? Get the phone book and check your area, there should be vets open as normal!
Once you've got some dewormer for your cat, do worm her every 3 months so this doesn't happen again. Bear in mind it may not be worms, there may be another problem there. Usually cats will have diarrhoea if they have worms.

Yes, wait until Tuesday and then bring a fresh stool sample in to the vet. They'll check it and then be able to tell you if your cat has worms.
Do not deworm until you get the results from the vet.

Why do you think she has worms?
We need to know what symptoms she's having to better answer your question.
Also, how old is she?

An animal dragging its bottom across the floor are most likely 1 of 2 things - one, worms and two, they need their anal glands expressed. Since most cats don't routinely need their anal glands expressed, you may be right in thinking she has parasites. If she's up to date with her annual exam at the vets - you can simply drop off a stool sample for them to test for worms. If she's not up to date, take both her and a stool sample.

If you saw a small white worm on her anus, there is nothing to do until you can get to the vet, because it is tapeworm and it takes a pill to get rid of. If it is roundworm, you can buy worm medicine at most department stores and pet stores. Make sure you have an accurate weight and your cat is of the appropriate age to be given these medicines before you buy them.
