Yes, even though it was against my father's wishes. I went to a catholic church (we were Jewish) for an Xmas mass. The experience was even more boring than being in temple, as I couldn't understand a word being said & it took FOREVER (keep in mind that I was about 8 years old.)
On the entertaining side, I DID mistake the confessional for the bathroom (don't get me wrong--as soon as I realized I was NOT in the right place I left. I didn't defile the confessional or anything.)

I have been in many different churches thru out my life. I had been on my own path to God for the majority of my life so I always went to different churches to see if that was the right one for me. Well in December my search for the right church stopped. The Lord led me to His true church, the Catholic Church and I have been at home ever since. In all the churches that I have been to I never felt the presence of the Lord, but I sure do now. Jesus is very active in His church.

To the posters who put down the Catholic Churches, whether you know this or not, the churches are built by the congregations of each church. And the Catholic Church does more for the less fortunate in this world then any church on the face of the earth.

I've been to many. Originally as part of Sunday School classes when I was young but I have also been to services, weddings, etc in other people's churches and synagogues.

It's interesting to see how they conduct services and how they act in church.

I do have to say that every time I go into a Catholic Church I am appalled though. The amount of money spent on those huge cathedrals is simply obscene. How many poor families could they feed, clothe, etc if they opted for simple church buildings?

Er, yes. I quite often go to church with residents of the care home I work at. And since they get upset otherwise I take communion too. It's fine, though it isn't part of my belief system.

I quite like churches really, they can be peaceful places at times. And cathedrals are fascinating as historical monuments. Though I'd rather be out in the open air!

Hope that helps.

when my husband was ill a few weeks back , I sat in the hospital chapel each day for a few moments when I visited with him....
it was typically a chapel , but with books there to read from different religions
none of which were my own
but I would read a little from one or the other each day , and I found some peace
I love places of worship , no matter what type
there is always a feeling of peace and serenity

i have, and i plan to more often because its a really amazing and eye opening thing. When i went to London,I went to a catholic church (Im muslim) and the moment i stepped inside, they started playing the azan (the muslim call of prayer) it seriously felt like a sign. When I talked to the preist, he told me it was their way of showing their unity for all religions. And just today, I randomly walked into a BUddhist temple...its a special day for them. They were so sweet and showed me around and gave me flowers and all this stuff, and i got to perform their rituals!! it was so cool!!

I'm an atheist and I spent a few days in a monastic retreat because a relative asked me to go with them. It was a very peaceful environment and there was no attempt whatsoever to force beliefs upon me. I enjoyed the experience and found it interesting but it didn't make me question my atheism.

Yes; I went inside the Dome of the Rock.
It felt like I walked through spiderwebs. I don't know how else to explain it.
It is a mosque.
