He is the third person of the Trinity
A common mistake made with regard to the Holy Spirit is referring to the Spirit as "it," which the Bible never does. This is because the Holy Spirit is a person. He has the attributes of personhood, performs the actions of persons, and has personal relationships. He has insight (1 Corinthians 2:10-11). He knows things, which requires an intellect (Romans 8:27). He has a will (1 Corinthians 12:11). He convicts of sin (John 16:8). He performs miracles (Acts 8:39). He guides (John 16:13). He intercedes between persons (Romans 8:26). He is to be obeyed (Acts 10:19-20). He can be lied to (Acts 5:3), resisted (Acts 7:51), grieved (Ephesians 4:30), blasphemed (Matthew 12:31), even insulted (Hebrews 10:29). He relates to the apostles (Acts 15:28), and to each member of the Trinity (John 16:14; Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14). The personhood of the Holy Spirit is presented without question in the Bible.

The holy spirit is one third of the God Head or trinity Father,Son and Holy Spirit. The Holy SPirit is kinda like a conscience almost. He lets u know if you've done something bad, he helps u in time of need example: last weeks I was going home from work the holy spirit gave me a "feeling" not sure how else to explain. I didn't have a peace inside! SO I went home a different way.Later found out that a person died in a car accident around the time and on same road. COuld have been me if I would have taken that way home and not listened to the Holy SPirit.

Unlike the fictional character Dracula, who practived an arcane form of love built on mutual consumption of soul, The Holy Spirit brings a love more perfect, in that it is a giving love, rather than a taking love.

Marching band have a spirit, football teams have a spirit, the Airborne Corp has Espirit de Corp. The Holy Spirit is somewhat more universal, cosmic, so to speak. I'ts a group thing.

John 14:16-18

16 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;

17 Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.

18 I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.

In summary, it mean after you accepted Christ as your personal savuior to go heaven when you died, in the mean time you have Holy Spirit that Jesus had sent to us to guide and live righteousness in our daily life.

Imagine that you have a best friend. This friend never leaves your side, never lies, knows everything there is to know about you, yet never condemns you. Knows everything about God and Jesus and wants to tell you. Knows and wants you to understand where you came from, why you are here, and where you are going. Without this special friend you would be lost on this planet with no idea how to get back home. He gets excited when you learn how to understand the principles taught by Jesus and begin to use them to improve the relationships in your life. Clear enough picture for you?

He - not what - is the third person of God. He is the One who is with us until Jesus comes back. Jesus sent Him to be with us to convict us of sin, to lead us into truth, to be born again through Him and to give the spiritual gifts which are used for building up the church. These gifts include healing, teaching, speaking in tongues, faith, preaching etc.
