I've had hamsters, guinea pigs, etc. They usually aren't that expensive but I will answer you're question
-You can buy a used tank or wire container, which would be anywhere between $20-50, you can look on eBay. A new one would be about $40-60.
-Food is about $5-10, sometimes more sometimes less, depends. You can also feed them things like carrots and lettuce.
-Bedding is about $7-10 for one of those bundel things. You don't usually have to buy a lot of it. You have to change their cage about twice a week but it depends.
-Gerbals are pretty cheap at a place like Walmart, they're about $10 or less. a peice.
-The wheel is about $10, I think. When you buy your cage and if you have a wheel inside of it be sure that you have a lid on your cage because I had a cage without a lid and my hamster climbed up on the wheel and crawled out of the cage, then my dog ate him.
-The water bottle is about $5
-You might want to buy a book on gerbils, which would be like $5-10.
The total would be about $160. (Most of the time they're less though)

At a pet store, a ten gallon tank with a wire lead will set you back about $20 (the tank is relatively cheap, it's the lid that you pay for).
Food is around $5 a bag.
Bedding, which should be aspen or careFRESH and is cheapest when purchased in bulk, is around $12 for a HUGE bag (15 lbs?) and $6 for a smaller bag (2lb?).
The gerbils would cost anywhere from $6 to $15, depending on the pet store you go to, but you should really consider adoption. Gerbils are abandoned, just like cats and dogs, by the thousands every year. Check www.petfinder.com for local gerbils in need!
Wheel without rungs, probably around $12.
A water bottle is anywhere from $5 to $12, but you also need to get a protective cover because the gerbil will chew through the water bottle, so that is another $8.
Chew sticks and hidey houses (those plastic igloos work best) are a must for gerbils, together those will cost around $15-$20.
(All that comes to a max price of $104).
Keep in mind that you should also factor in the cost of a vet visit if your gerbil gets sick.
Also note, many of the items here will run out and you will need to replenish your supply (a gerbil should ALWAYS have chew sticks on hand, as their teeth never stop growing and over-grown teeth may cause problems).
Good luck! Be sure to throughly research your new friends BEFORE you buy them to make sure you will be able to give them everything they need. I AM NOT AN EXPERT ON GERBILS. This list may be lacking in some important details (such as sand bathes, which I know gerbils enjoy but am not sure if they have to take). Do your research and you'll find that you enjoy your pet more with the more you know about them.

2 gerbils will most likely cost $20-30, a good cage will be around $30, bedding $15, food $20, bowls $10. So it all stacks up around $100 - 120.

Depends what type of stuff you get. Try not to spend more $150, or else you're probably spending to much. Continuously, you will probably spend a lot on food, so I'd recommend getting one, and getting another, just to to prepare yourself.

Whatever you decide to buy... PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE get TWO gerbils. Two boys or two girls. Gerbils are very social animals and will be very lonely, confused and bored if they don't have a cage mate. And you MUST buy two together -- no matter how lonely a gerbil is, adult gerbils will fight to the DEATH if they haven't grown up together.
Have fun with your new pets -- gerbils are WONDERFUL!
