Do you neither believe nor disbelieve in the NY Yankees? How about Santa Clause? Corndogs? Invisible gremlins on Venus?

Why is it we are so certain with our minds when it comes to baseball, fairground food, and mythological creatures yet we struggle with the existence of an almighty creator?

If you havent made a decision, then you are undecided. Some people call that agnostic. But agnostics are just a step below atheists. They doubt God, yet arent ready to step out on a limb and proclaim firm disbelief.

If you believe that there is an equal probability that god does or doesn't exist, then it's definitely agnosticism. If you keep the position neutral, then it could also be agnosticism.

But if you stay away from any ideas about god and religion, then it is atheism, because you are not giving any probability to the existence of god. That's why some people say that babies and animals are atheist, because they have no conception of god/s. Make sense?

Sometimes, the definitions of atheism and agnosticism vary.

Some forms of "weak" atheism, meaning a lack of belief in a deity or believing that god is not "likely" to exist (less than 50/50 probability), tend to blend into the definition of agnosticism.

Other forms of "strong" atheism, meaning a belief that no god exists, are much less likely to conflict with those definitions. I'm a member of the former category, so I often list myself as atheist/agnostic to avoid any confusion.

Atheism is not defined as BELIEVING that god does NOT exist... it is defined as NOT believing that god DOES exist. So, the person who you would regard as 'neutral' IS, in fact, an atheist. Agnostics, who claim to not KNOW whether gods exist, and therefore do not BELIEVE in them, are ALSO atheists.

Atheism can be regarded as a belief, or a faith, or a religion ONLY in the same sense that you might consider NOT collecting stamps a hobby.

Note that there ARE some people who BELIEVE that gods do not exist. These are typically called STRONG atheists.

If you believe that there is no god then that makes you an atheist. If you believe there is a god then you are not an atheist if you remain neutral then you are double minded and have no foundation for witch you stand.

You would be areligious. It means you are unconcerned or indifferent to religious matters. Agnostic means that you do not confirm or deny the existence of God, but you are very much concerned with the possiblity of a higher power.

To answer your question directly, no you would not be an atheist.
According to God's Book, you can NOT be neutral toward God. He said plainly you are either for Him or against Him.

Even if you say I'm not sure or maybe later I'll believe if I get faith or what ever else you care to imagine, right now, if you have not said YES to Him, you are against Him.

Here's the thing, the devil only wants your "right now".
The devil would say to you " You can believe in God later if you want. Take you time, He loves you and He'll understand."

Don't believe a word of it! You can NOT ignore the whole thing and be neutral. You are either for or against Him.
