Bloody diarrhea is not a good thing. Don't try to get her to eat anything until she's seen the vet to find out what's causing this. Drinking lots of water is good though so she doesn't get dehydrated.

This sounds like the same problem I had with my first Yorkie back in 1970. We found out, only too late, that he had been a product of the 'puppy market' trade - taken away from his mother under 8 weeks old (from Wales) and ending up at the infamous Kensington Dog Bureau in London.

Trouble started from day one, but we managed to stabilise him. Then, for the rest of his mere 13yrs, we had sickness, haemorrhagic gastro-enteritis (which sounds like your dog's problem) plus a whole variety of other related ills.

I would guess that the reason your dog is now a bit 'off' her food, is the fact she is extremely sore and in considerable discomfort. I am pleased to hear, however, that she is drinking water and eating chicken. Continuous diarrhoea can cause dehydration and is extremely dangerous; the more she can drink, the better.

Fortunately, veterinary science has moved on 'light years' since 1970, and your dog will have a far better chance of getting over this than mine ever had. As another contributor on here stated, you really need your vet to sort this out. We can only listen to and support you but, ultimately, it is the vet who can eradicate this distressing problem.

When you and your dog are over this, ask your vet about a complementary probiotic you may be able to give. Both my Yorkie 'boys' thrive on Denes Probiotic+ Powders if they have gastric or bowel upsets. A regular regime of cottage cheese added to their chicken also works wonders; my vet swears by this, so ask yours about it.

Please get to your vet ASAP. Nip this in the bud and avoid the heartache we had.

All the best from all of us.

She needs to see a vet. In the meantime you can safely give her half of a Pepto tablet every 8 hours until the loose stool subsides or she sees the vet. If she is hungry try giving her plain white rice and cottage cheese...not her regular food for a couple of days. My pit mix is feeling the same way today with the upset stomach and after giving her some of that she is much better.

It kind of sounds like it may be Parvo. Take your dog to the vet ASAP. Even if it's not parvo diarrhea can be a deadly situation especially if he isn't eating or drinking very much. Call an Emergency vet clinic right now. Good Luck

Why waste your time asking ridiculous questions on here when you know your dog needs veterinary attention. She has an infection and it will require medication from the vet. Dogs are sick because they are ill -just like us humans.
