Yes for a business customer is right because if you try to make them feel there wrong then you lost there business and to every business each customer is very important. A customer who is treated bad can go somewhere else with there business. as long as the customer is not asking iilegal and against company rules

Many, if not most, customers are definitely NOT in the right. Many are unreasonable, demanding, crabby, arrogant, stupid, and even dishonest.

But, customers are the folks who keep your business, and your job ( paycheck ) coming.

If you fight with a customer, sure, you MAY win the battle, but in the end you'll lose out. Especially if you run your own business. Especially if you're a salesperson dependent on commissions.

Better to take the statement as a mantra to be followed, instead of worrying about the truth of it - and it's NOT.

As a young girl starting in the retail industry, that was the general rule.
I have worked in the retail industry for many years now and know better.
It is just a matter of being patient and polite to customers ,even the diffifcult ones.
When you cannot resolve the issue call a supervisor.
Sometimes they are right but not always.

Not when there is blatant abuse involved. Businesses have changed the return policies for customers who chronically return items with and no receipts, return items that they have damaged themselves and try to say it was faulty, steal items and try to return and get money back. Businesses were suffering large losses enough to force them into filing chapter 13 or go out of business altogether. Some businesses are charging a re-stocking fee for merchandise that has been returned to discourage needless returning.

No, the customer is usually "a fool, if not an idiot" and almost never right; but, since they are paying you, you got to make them think they are!

Learn to suck it up and kiss #%&; but once you "got the sale" and they are long gone, get over it and move on to the next one.............after all, what do you think they are saying about YOU?

Sorry to say, capitalism at it's best!

no but if you are a wise person who wants to keep their job, then you will agree with them and do what ever it is in your power to make the customer happy and want to continue business with you.

It depends on how much punishment you are willing to take to keep their business. I won't take any. I fire clients if they are obnoxious.

You need to draw the line on pleasing people or you will turn them into mooches, always expecting something for nothing.

Just remember, buyers are liars. Even the preachers.
