I don't think that there is anything wrong with a gay or lesbian couple adopting a child. I feel that in being gay, these couples want a child more than anything because they long to be a family and be complete. They appreciate having a child more because biologically they can't have children and because society in large does not really approve of this and it is much harder for gay couples to adopt children. Being gay doesn't make you a bad parent or any less better than a heterosexual parent. It is all about loving the child and giving it a good loving home.

FACT: there are more children who need a family than there are people willing to adopt them.
NOT A FACT: A person's sexual orientation prevents them from being a loving parent to a child who needs a loving parent/family, therefore should not be able to adopt.
We all have different beliefs, and we all believe in teaching our children our values. Whether that's religion or basic social tolerance, what happens in ones bedroom has nothing to do with wanting to save a child from a life of foster care. I know plenty of heterosexuals who are not necessarily fit to be parents--but it ain't because they're straight.

Well I have worked in child welfare and I am as for this as anyone can be.
There are literally hundreds of thousands of kids in the US left floating around the foster care system because their naturally wonderful heterosexual parents abused or abandoned them. If any kind loving adult is willing & able to raise the children someone else choose to make and then harm or ignore more power to them I say.
To assume as someone said that gay or lesbian parents are looking for someone to sexually abuse is absurb. Most child molestors are men and most are straight - try again.
Just because someone's reproductive organs are functioning and they dont have brains enough to use birth control doesnt deem them a fit parent trust me!

I don't see any problem with homosexual couples adopting. As long as they can provide a loving, stable home.
Who's to say a child who has two fathers, or two mothers is any worse off than a child who has teen parents, low-income parents or a single parent??
The important thing is: are the child's needs being met and are they being raised by parents who love them.
I had a good friend in school who was raised by two mothers. She was a happy, bright, well adjusted (straight) girl who was not at all embarrassed to talk about her parents to her classmates.

Well I think they can be perfectly good parents. I think the kids will possibly get made fun of but if we denied them the opportunity to be parents because of that then fat or ugly people shouldn't be allowed to have kids either. Basically gays adopting kids really wont affect any of our lives directly so I say let them do it. What difference does it make, less kids in foster care can never really be a bad thing.

would yo prefer theses kids to live in group homes or go from foster home to foster home where they are possibly abused just as badly as they were before going into foster care??? OR would you prefer to have these kids in ONE home with TWO parents in a LOVING environment???
I prefer these kids to have a relatively normal life without abuse or drugs or whatever that will be loved and cared for verses alone abused...so really its NOT that wrong....the straight parents who decided to abuse or abandon theses kids are the ones that are wrong.
I am physically disabled should i NOT be a parent because of that?? I should hope not that wouldn't make me an automatic bad parent....so neither should being gay

I doubt they would have the opportunity, as most unwanted babies are killed before birth. There are lot of homeless children out there in need of stable homes, and who cares what goes on in the parents' bedroom? Did you know what your parents did in private?? An unusual home is better than no home at all.

I was raised by lesbians.
- I am not gay
- I have a beautiful house and 2 beautiful sons
- I have a college degree
- My mom and her gf are very happy, and the nicest people ever!
- Theyre not going to hell, Im not going to hell
And if you think God would send them to hell, then what the Hell kind of god are you praying to?
You do know that homosexuality WAS an abomination for reasons that dont apply today, right?
You want to follow whats in a BOOK that was written a LONG time ago, than you may as well tell pregnant women to smoke to lose weight - as THAT was also written in a BOOK a long time ago.

I think it's wrong for two people without high school diplomas and reasonable income to be allowed to raise children.
If a 14 year old girl gets knocked up I think the child should be taken away from her and put in competent and financially stable hands.
Who cares if that means two men or two women if they're capable of caring for the child?

I don't think there is one thing wrong with it. As long as they can pass the background checks that the agencies always run with prospective adoptive parents. As long as the baby is well cared for and happy, who should care?
