I saw one yesterday or the other day on paula deen

It is a different variation of a cheeseburger pie

1 pound lean ground beef
1/2 cup sweet onions, preferably Vidalia onion
1 tablespoon steak seasoning (recommended: Montreal)
1 tablespoon steak seasoning sauce (recommended: Dale's Steak Seasoning Sauce)
5 slices cheese, preferably American, Swiss, or sharp Cheddar
1 sheet frozen puff pastry dough*
1 egg yolk

*Frozen puff pastry dough should sit at room temperature for about 20 minutes.
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F and preheat the grill.

Mix the ground beef, onion, steak seasoning, and seasoning sauce together (using your hands is the most efficient way to do this). Form into 5 small flat patties. Grill the hamburgers to medium-well. (You may also pan-fry the patties.) Remove from the grill and top each burger with a slice of cheese of your choice.

Roll the puff pastry sheet to flatten slightly. Cut it into 5 relatively even rectangles.

Cover each burger with a piece of puff pastry and wrap it around the bottom, pinching all of the edges to seal. Place on an un-greased baking sheet, pinched side down.

Whish together the egg yolk and 1 teaspoon water to make an egg wash. Brush each wrapped pastry with the egg wash. Bake for about 15 minutes, until the puff pastry is nice and brown.

Make your patty and season how you normally would. Saute baby bellas in olive oil. Top your burgers with that and then a slice of swiss. Mix together mayo and balsamic vinegar. The mixture should be a nice mauve color. Add A LOT of cracked black pepper to this kicked up mayo. Slather on the rolls and ENJOY!

This is a good and easy recipe from Rachel Ray.

Here's a recipe I like.

Ingredients

1 – 1½ kg mincemeat (Beef or ½ Beef and ½ Pork).
¼ loaf of 2 day old bread (amount of bread must not exceed meat).
One large onion finely chopped.
Plenty of parsley finely chopped.
½ Greek coffee cup of olive oil.
Salt and pepper and barbecue spices.
2-3 eggs.

Soak bread in water, and squeeze dry.
If meat is dry, add ½ Greek coffee cup of olive oil.
Add bread to meat.
Add salt, pepper and barbecue spices to taste.
Add eggs.
Mix with a wooden spoon, or mix the meat in a stand mixer fitted with a dough hook. If possible, avoid mixing the meat with your hands so your fingers don't warm it.

Have to say that I will definitely try appleluver25's recipe though. I'm always on the lookout for something interesting.

Mom used to make these as something different. She called them sizzleburgers, I think because thet tended to splatter droplets of grease around. She would prepare the burgers as normal and for us that included whatever was available for filler, stale potato chips or corn chips, crushed or week old bread cut up in itty bitty pieces and always minced onion.
a quarter stick of margarine was melted in a skillet and worchestershire sauce was added. burgers were frien in that! Messy but good and I still make the darn things after some 50 or so years..

WE add A1 Steak Sauce to the hamburger, slat , pepper, onion powder ! Dont over mix the meat! Just get it to come together! YOU might add Paprika too! DoNT ever flatten a burger why it is cooking! GOOD bread makes a better burger too!

Onion soup mix, worcestershire sauce, but you can't forget Lawry's seasoned salt. Use generously. Also, I spray the burger patties with butter flavored pan spray before grilling.

My boyfriend's parents raise beef, so we always have a freezer full of grain fed black angus.....I tried a new stuffed burger the other night & it turned out great!!

Pat out meat, then halve each patty before shaping. Place 1/2 of meat patted out onto plate, then layer a couple slices of your favorite cheese ( I used provelone) then top with other 1/2 & pinch edges together. Grill as usual, then top burgers with grilled mushrooms & bacon......Yummy!!
