after one year and three days my car stopped in the middle of the street the dealer closes to me was not the one I bought it from. they changed the computer in the engine and five days later I had to take it back in the dealer for a dragging start, then they put a fuel pump and it never started the same again, it drag some but not as much as before, also when I start it up the engine light is the last one to go off. 1 to 2 months later the radio started changing station on its own, I took it back and they ordered a new radio, the dealer that I bought it from wont touch it they say the problem is the dealer that I took it to first have to do the work it's seems that the everything started when it stopped first and everything is related because of the dealer that started working on it first but they wont address the drag start. I'm still waiting for my radio to be installed. I'm not a rocket scencetis but it seems like something stinks with this car.

Automobiile Lemon Laws will vary from state to state. In Illinois, for example, a vehicle is covered by Lemon Law for the 1st 12 months or 12,000 miles whichever comes 1st. & you have to give the manufacturer ample attempts to fix a problem, in order to qualify for a 'buyback'

Here is a link for you to look up your state.

(They also, generally, only protect the FIRST owner. If you bought the vehicle pre-owned there are other laws to protect you.)

although it is well known, to those of us in the auto industry about the 'hush hush' habits of Toyota...that doesn't help you solve your problem.

Since you (i assume) are still covered & within your original Manufacturer Warranty, You need to take this up with the manufacturer.

It is utterly rediculous for one dealer to refuse to do warranty work because another dealer may or may not have done repairs correctly ! Warranty covered repairs can & should be done at any dealership.

You should contact the manufacturer immediatly !

A 'sparkling' reputation for (so called) quality & reliability is becoming more & more tarnished by the 'hush hush' methods.

The Matrix is a very dependable vehicle no none issues at all , Sounds like the first dealer has some not very component techs , so its probably for the best you find a more reliable repair source , the manufacture has given a three year sixty thousand mile warranty , good at all Toyota dealer ships ,I would wonder if there is any non factory accessories on the car .If the issue persists take it back to your choice of dealers

Toyota is aware of these issues. Long cranking is typical for any corolla or matrix. There is a Sevice bullitin available for both those conditions, long crank you replace the pump, and if you experiece a stall its the computer. You start up a matrix brand new and it takes long to start, just how they are. Just be thankful the radio went cooky under warranty because they are very expensive. I should know i work for them. These cars are the real deal, maintain them and they will last forever in my experiece/opinion.

The matrix became a hurry rush production vehicle. It became positioned out while not having sufficient time spent in its progression and due to that there could be many disasters interior the automobiles mechanics. the laptop of the vehicle could have been lined below any guarantee if the vehicle has 12K miles on it as could have been the gasoline pump and the radio. you're able to no longer have paid for any of the paintings. As for the sellers remark, he's right. in case you carry the vehicle to one broking, each and every of the paintings could be carried accessible as a results of fact they have records of the paintings carried out on your vehicle. Plus each and every broking is independently owneed and operated. One proprietor would not opt to shell out money for a difficulty that he wasn't advised to repair interior the 1st place.

i have a matrix and it is a little slow to crank. i'm pretty sure thats how they all are. it sounds to me like the first repair you got for the computer was a guess work repair if it broke down only a few days later. the fuel pump was probably the real problem. all in all they are not bad cars just like anything else out there you have to stay on top of your maintenance, and it sounds like you should start dealing with another shop/dealership those first guys you told me about aren't shooting straight with you.
