I'm trying to install a new stereo. I've removed the console/bezel and removed the two bolts on the front of the stereo and pulled, but it won't budge. There appears to be a steel bracket holding the stereo in place. I pulled and it won't come out. I moved the A/C vent to the side and it looks like there's two steel bars, diagnolly that are holding it in place. I can't figure out how to get to it without tearing the whole dash apart. How do I get to it?

Pop off the long panel that covers the defroster vents, at the top of the dash just under the windshield. You should find the nuts that hold the rear support bracket. Remove them, unhook the bracket, and pull the radio and bracket out the front. The bracket arms will have to flex to fit through the opening, but they'll fit.

If I remember correctly, there is a single nut on the back of the bracket that you are talking about. You can remove the defroster vent and gain access to the nut, a 10mm I believe, through that opening. It is also attaching the grounding strap to the radio.
