Do you find being a delivery man difficult?

Did you come across an incident where after delivering your company's product to the receipent, he refused to acknowledged it?

Worse still, when you tried to take it back from him, he refused to let you, claiming it's okay. He might also tell you he and your boss had many years of good business relations and he could be trusted to take the product from you. He might even threaten you that he might report you on your behaviour if you take the product from him. You might then find it difficult to take the product from him for fear he might complain you. Have you ever come across such an unreasonable incident? What did you do?

You really should not be releasing the product until you have it signed for, but if you did and they refuse delivery but will not return the product to you I would most definitely call the police.Good relations with your boss aside, you have a job to do and it is your responsibility to protect the merchandise. Remember this... if there is anything missing or damaged resulting from that delivery, without proper acceptance ( IE signature etc) YOU ARE 100% responsible for replacement cost of the item!!!!
I would also then talk to your boss about this and refuse to deliver to this person if that type of behaviour is to be allowed. If your boss expects you to put up with this sort of behaviour I would definitely look for another job as you will not get paid enough to take that kind of treatment from anybody.

I am a longhaul truck driver and have come across this before. When you stick to your guns and call the police ( or say you will) 9 of 10 times the isuue will end, if not call them as there is likely something fishy going on.

I sometimes deliver. While I've not had the circumstances
you've described I once had a box of cargo snatched by
a thief. Foot chase followed. There was a forced return of
property. Until I had a reciept the transfer belonged to the
issue authority and my responsibility is to ferry fully from
one port to another. Bruised knuckles but did my duty. You?

If I come across that situation unless they signed a receipt for the goods they would not be left & I would immediately inform my boss.I would say sorry I have to check with my employer & walk.

Your company should have a policy on this. If they don't then ask for one.
