It's an antihistamine. It works very well, especially if you have topical benadryl (I use it).

Benadryl counteracts the hystamine reaction in your body caused by a mosquito bite (or anything else that causes itching). Star off with 25mg (usually 1 pill) every 4-6 hours. If that doesn't help, take 50 mg every 6 hours. Don't scratch the mosquito bite - it'll just cause he hystamine reaction worse.

Benadryl is an allergy medicine. It should work on the itching part of the mosquito bite. It will also make you drowsy. Only take 2 gelcaps.

the pill form? or just cream?? I would not use the internal medicine because that is normally for allergic reactions and such and a mosquito bite is just a bit too minor for all that. just try some calamine lotion if it is that bothersome. its pink

It is an antihistamine. It can help with the itching and swelling of insect bites. But beware that it can make you very drowsy. Don't drive after you take it.
