Alright so I downloaded something and it has a zipped folder so when i extracted it it has the symbol where when u click on it it says Windows can not find the file extension or whatever and say u can search the web which didnt help or choose to find it manually so what program do i use

Well what extension is on the file that can't be read? If you extracted it there should be an extension like .abc .rrr .hsp etc if you know what that is, we can probably find what you need. In fact you can do an internet search which would tell you.

try using WinZip to unzip the file

Windows XP has built in zip handling.

However, winrar from http://www.rarlabs.com/ can handle most formats

if u have winzip then select it from the list else use the other option

maybe it wasn't zip.
there's like a rar file too, it's similar.
