My Grandma thinks LOL means lots of love
is there a website or somthing that says that that it what lol means? (I always used it as laugh out loud?)

This is Funny, Back in the day before computers...people would write and sign leters or sign yearbooks with LOL (lots of Love), we used it as a term of endearment. Like KIT means keep in touch HAGS means have a great summer...so forth and so forth! Computing turned the old LOL into laughs, but yes it really means lots of love!

Because ... in her day -- people were more used to using caring statements and other sayings that today's youth don't seem to understand ...
That is why she thinks it is an abbrevation for what it stands for at this time.
PLUS .. these 'texting' letters have also changed meanings over time as well -- what was standard 10 yrs ago is different today. I try NEVER to use abbrevations or texting language -- because it is so EASY To misinterpret -- much better choice is to WRITE Everything CLEARLY and spell it accurately. That way -- communication is CLEAR and Understandable.

no gramma don't have it wrong back in are day that's what it meant each year the younger kid's take something from the passed and changes it to something else history just repeat it's self it's just worded alittle different

My mom thought the same thing when she first saw it. She told me that that is what it meant when she was yonger.
