looking at a '04 Grand Cherokee V8 limited w/52k miles. I've been driving a '01 V70 Volvo 5 cyc wagon, getting about 24 mpg--wondering if I'm going to need extra loan to pay for gas if I buy the jeep....

The V8 will cost you most in Gas and on some mechanical repairs. you need to feed the extra 2 cylinders. that takes more fuel. however I do think the jeep is a better looking automobile then the volvo.

If you want a Jeep GC, buy one with the 4.0L Inline 6 engine. Those engines are bulletproof and get you better gas mileage than your Volvo if properly tuned up and taken care of. The V8 engines are pieces of crap.

As long as you keep you foot away from the floor you'll be okay.

Anything is better than a VOLVO

you ll need more fuel, oil, everything you buy now you will have to get more of. like if you were to get sparkplugs at 5 dollars a pop. instead of buying 5 youll need 8. no big deal but yeah they cost alittle more. but worth it
