According to Alabama law:
Section 30-1-7
Persons authorized to solemnize marriages.
(a) Generally. Marriages may be solemnized by any licensed minister of the gospel in regular communion with the Christian church or society of which the minister is a member, by a judge of the Supreme Court, Court of Criminal Appeals, Court of Civil Appeals, any circuit court or any district court within this state, by a judge of any federal court, or by a judge of probate within his or her county, or any retired judge of the Supreme Court, retired judge of the Court of Criminal Appeals, retired judge of the Court of Civil Appeals, retired judge of the circuit court, retired judge of the district court within this state or a retired judge of probate within his or her county.
(b) Pastor of religious society; clerk of society to maintain register of marriages; register, etc., deemed presumptive evidence of fact. Marriage may also be solemnized by the pastor of any religious society according to the rules ordained or custom established by such society. The clerk or keeper of the minutes of each society shall keep a register and enter therein a particular account of all marriages solemnized by the society, which register, or a sworn copy thereof, is presumptive evidence of the fact.
Basically all that means is that you may be married by a officate of a local church (if you don't belong to a church but prefer to be married by a minister/pastor/etc. often times an officiate will charge a small fee to perform the service. Usually between $30-$50. Members are usualy exempt from a charge, but it is customary to give a gift or donation to him/her) or a Justice of the Peace (check your local phonebook for a listing or go to the local courthouse). Where I live, the town mayor may perform marriages.
A non-traditional option is to have a friend or family member whom you like and trust to become ordaned (either perminately or temporarily) to perform the wedding. One site where ordination can be obtained online is: www.openordination.org. This person would be able to legally perform your wedding in any state.
Hope this helps you with your question. Good luck.

Look in the yellow pages or online for that area for any wedding chapels or wedding venues. They usually have an officiant that will perform the ceremony wherever you are having it for a minimal fee, usually around $100 to $200 which will include the rehearsal too. If you cant find anything like that then contact the courthouse as a judge can also perform the ceremony. Congrats.

Have you checked to see if the Captain of the Bama Belle can marry you? That is the usual routine when someone marries aboard a boat.

Anyone ordained in the capacity of marriage can do this. My husband is not a minister/judge/jp but he can legally marry people because of our religion. We are LDS and the men do hold certain priviliges and one is to marry people.
