A rod licence is not needed in scotland, just a ticket for the river or loch you are fishing. Salmon fishing isn't allowed on sundays, but course or trout fishing is allowed.

no rod licence needed for scotland. only a permit for the water u are fishing. no fishing for salmon on a sunday. if in ayrshire, 7mile loch with free trout fishing[great].

Yes you will but you can fish free from bridges I believe. No fishing on Sunday. Fishing esturial waters is also free of charge. I hope you have a great time and come back and recount many fishy tales!

Are you fishing saltwater-if you are then no, also if your fishing freshwater lakes you don't need one, im not sure if the laws have changed, you may need one for migratory fish(salmon, seatrout)
