Depends on the situation. If your country was being invaded and Religion said be meak and turn the other cheek, I'd side with Country, so long as I thought my Country was a decent one.

When my country wanted to draft me into the ARmy in 1970 I told my country my religion won't let me kill and they put me into the Medical Corps instead of the Infantry.

I resent the thought that each physique individuals blindly subsribe to christian doctrine... and you do no longer want faith so as to steer a ethical & constructive existence, effecting the individuals around you & your society with love, appreciate & humility. are not the individuals slaughtering people in Darfur muslim arabs? You excluded Iraq & Afganistan out of your answer, yet you probably did no longer exclude the genocide happening in Africa. additionally, at a similar time as i comprehend genital mutilation (aka woman circumcision) isn't a musltim tradiation, and easily has roots in older naturalistic traditions of the midsection east & africa... no count how low the homicide or rape fee is in a united states of america... once you're reducing little ladies clitoris off, it particularly is f*cked up & counteracts any data that seem to make a united states of america much less violent. additionally... honor killings. people are animals. there are various good, healthy, intellegent people in the international.... yet regrettably, there are additionally many many hateful, idealistic, fundamentalist (believing your concept gadget & way of existence is greater suitable to others) that do harm to different people simply by fact they are in a position to. Islam isn't an inherently violent faith, neither is christrianity...yet like all faith, the two could be abused & bastardized into automobiles for hate & oppression against people.

The boundaries of our countries are just set by Britishers as per their own interest. To confine us within cages like a zoo, where each type of animals are treated in different ways, to have a full control by divide n rule.

Loyalty to one’s country, is actually derived from the principles of our religion: fulfillment of our covenants, especially when we know that these covenants do not require a person to give up his faith in order to be a “loyal” citizen. In reality, the constitutions of many “liberal, secular” democracies affirm freedom of religion.

Of course my faith in God comes first but then scriptures tell us to obey the laws of the land so it is like covering both questions at once. Mmm

My country always comes first and even though I'm a pacifist I know there are times when you have to take a stand and fight so if it came down to that it would be my country I died for.

God comes first.

Acts 5:29
We must obey God rather than man!

The Bible does say that we are to abide by the laws of the land, but that is only if they are in accordance to God's law. When they go against His law, then obey God. I would die for my country, but if my country was doing something that is against God's law, then I would die for God first.
