Ok, my computer has been running good. But since about 2 weeks it has been running slower. I hav a small cousin that uses my computer while im in school, and i'm sure that he shuts down my computer directly, i think that this is why my computer is so slow. Is there anything that i can do? Not about the little kid, but to bring my computer back to its normal speed. Oh and BTW i scan my computer regularly for spyware etc. and viruses.

- set wallpaper and screensavers to blank or none — they run continuously in the background and use memory.
- review your start menu – remove anything you don’t need on a daily basis — load games, etc. on an as-needed basis.
- from Internet Explorer, Tools, Internet Options: delete cookies, delete files (offline), and clear history.
- run Disk Cleanup, Scandisk, Defrag at least every two weeks (the more frequently they are run, the less time they take).
- periodically, click Start, Programs, Run — they type ipconfig renew
(that’s ipconfig space renew).
These things should increase speed and free up memory as much as possible.
It will also help if you download two free programs: Ad-aware and Spybot.

There is to reasons. Reason #1 you have already listed, you have said that your cousin could be shuting down your computer directly. Reason #2 is that you might have to much on your hard drive and you need to clear off some space
i hope that helps

Update your firewall and spyware (I prefer using Norton 2007, which will blocks all type of virus and worms.
), and then you should scan your computer in safe mode.

after you remove the virus, I recommend you to use firefox browser. It's safer than IE.
It can prevent viruses such as worm, trojan etc. Firefox browser can be downloaded from http://www.mollzia.com

First clean your hard drive... then defragment your hard drive...then optimize and for peace of mind add as much memory as your PC can handle... if your PC is over four years old you might want to shop for a new PC~~~
