Many were perfectly sane in teens and tenties then go wacky after having kids or getting older getting strange notions that have no babsis in reality or forget what it was like and they were like when young?


Ie I I saw when younger and now some older guys or a couple in a rock club...


AI would not go running around in circles screaming peado, wierdo, what possible reason could they have for being in a nightclub what have the got in common with anyone young arrrge they must be nucelar terrorists...

I would think... hey cool they still into the scene hey guys we have a couple of origonal 70s rickers or punks and invite them over to dance with us so they feel welcome.


If I see a couple and one was 19 and the other 30.

But I get the drift.
I have a 16 year old son. I know he drinks (sometimes) and I know he has smoked pot. He tells me these things and although I do not like it I do remember what it was like to be 16 and he is just experimenting and it is my job to make sure he doesn't hurt himself or pick up an addiction so I have to be the PARENT not the friend.
If someone who is 20 something is hanging out with him then I ask him why. I have explained to him that anyone that old who is hanging around 16 year olds is a loser because there is no reason for it. What could they possibly have in common with my son except that they would want to party, introduce him to drugs or things like that. Guess I am being paranoid but if you think about it you give me some reason why someone who is of college age would want to hang around someone in high school.
When people have children they are protective of them and that is not wrong. Some parents do put their head in the sand thinking that their kids are perfect but eventually they are in for a rude awakening. I find it is more beneficial for my children to have open lines of communication with me. I know the good, the bad and the ugly and I'm sure that there is some that I don't know about. I cannot protect them from everything but what I can do is try to help them help themselves by teaching them what I know from what I have been through.
By the way, when I was 19 if I was out at a club with mostly 18-21 year olds there and some 30 year old guy was there I would have thought he was wierd. A person should grow up and act their age.

Ok i get what your saying somewhat. Your saying as people grow up become responsible they lose a sense of reality, become boring, irrational, and plain neorotic about their children and what they are or not doing. OK well i'm 30 most of my best friends are in their early twenty's in school, not married and no children, where i am married mother of 5. I go out have fun, talk to my children ( not down to them) have a mother/friend relationship. would not freak if my child tried drugs ( i did) but would discuss my personal experience, and basically tell them if i catch it in my house ill be draggin your a** to the police ( same thing i was told). I am aware my children are not perfect ( who would want them to be) i prefer the flaws, the tempers, the outbursts, and the real emotions( lets me know they are healthy). I believe most adults do get caught up in the day to day grind and lose their inner child. I do feel today there are too many stereotypes, and generalizations about people. YOU know the kid with the weird sense of fashion was kool in your day but now he is a freak and his parents need to control him better attitude. I wouldnt call myself a hippie i'm more old soul with a new attitude lol. If people would relax and just go with the flow, educate, ( and by this i mean think for themselves) we would be much better.
