Well, I and that guy dated 2 years ago. I still think about him even though I've been in another relationship for the past year. Because our relationship didn't have a natural end we still have some unresolved issues between us. (He was pressured by friends and family to break up with me so he said it was better to stop then than later when we will hurt more. We still ask our mutual best friend about each other from time to time; otherwise we do not keep in touch).

I am really nervous about having to spend the whole day and evening together, and at the same time I am looking forward to it. I got a really expensive dress and will look fabulous; I also got his dream job which is very well paid. So he will definitely be impressed. I am only not sure how to behave and what to expect from him on the day. Should I be like "My life is great without you and I am successful" or act indifferent or be friendly? My aim is to be full of class and make him appreciate me. Please help.

Dahling, nothing says class like class. The idea is to make an impression by not making an impression, you dig? I get the feling that the breakup was bogus, he lied in there, somewhere, but two years is two years, and it really doesn't matter, anymore.

Be polite and friendly. Act as you would with an old, dear friend that you never had sex with. If you act in a classy, impressive manner, he will be duly impressed by your class. Don't get all wistful about the 'good old days.' If he wants to reminisce, laugh and wave it off.

Really, what kind of pud dumps his girl because his friends and family want him to? Unless you really are some horrible psycho trash! But let's not assume that's the case.

Be friendly and don't act phoney. Act in a classy manner and don't make a fool out of yourself.

It is obvious that you still have feelings for the guy. Let things be natural. Do not be aggressively interested, and yet do nothing to repel him or be overly defensive. Just be nice. You may be pleasantly surprised with the outcome. Just be prepared to play your cards right. Often good relations can arise out of adverse circumstances.

Best of luck to you, and I hope that things will work out as you would want them.

It's a lot less work to just be yourself. If you try to impress him, you'll come off looking desperate. Most people can see through it. I think you'll look like a million bucks if you just be yourself, don't put on any act, and decide to move on emotionally. That way you're not pressuring yourself to be someone you're not in order to win the attention of someone who didn't value you enough to keep you in the first place. You can do better. Just my humble opinion.

Dating your ex is always bad news. Always. He knows you're hot to get back together, and he will use that to his advantage. You'll give it up and still not get back together.

You're telling yourself a lot of stories to convince yourself he will get back with you, and it just isn't true.

Be polite. Be gracious. But be suitably distant.

You don't need him to appreciate you because you don't need him. This the man who dumped you to please his family and friends.
