My symptoms are:

- Teary and warm eyes
- Stuffy nose
- Itchy throat
- Dizziness and headache
- Weakness

And when I look at certain foods, it makes me want to throw up. I was out in the cold just two days ago and was surrounded by a lot of people.

Also, is there anything I can do to make it more bearable?

First of all, contrary to popular belief, cold weather does not cause a cold - a virus does. Now the fact that you were surrounded by a lot of people, it's not unreasonable to think that one or a few were carrying a virus. However, this time of the year, is part of the allergy season, not so much the cold/flu season...and teary and warm eyes are classic symptoms of an allergy. You can develop an allergy at any age so perhaps it is worth going to the doctor and having a test done. You didn't mention anything about a fever, so I'm more inclined to think of allergy. I would of course consult your doctor, or even a pharmacist.

In the mean time, you could take over-the-counter anti-histamines (ex. Sudafed - but be careful, it could make you drowsy - good for teary eyes, stuffy nose, and even headache), Otrivin nasal spray or comparable (don't overdo it though. You can actually make your stuffiness worse, it's called rebound congestion - and if after 3 days there is no improvement, you likely need something stronger. See your doctor or pharmacist), throat lozenges for the throat itchiness (something with zinc or slippery elm - Thayer's throat lozenges are good), and Tylenol or cold compresses with chamomile, eucalyptus (good for congestion), or rosemary for the headache and dizziness (or even putting your head over steam with one of these oils in boiled water). As for foods, stick to liquids and soft foods (soups, popsicles, jello, etc.) for a bit.

Also take plenty of vitamin C and vitamin A (also good for boosting immunity).

Hope that helps. Get better soon.

I suggest that you take your temperature. Most of these symptoms are caused by a virus. Take some extra vitamin C, drink plenty of fluids. Check out the site below for additional information. I hope you feel better soon.

Let your doc look into this. I don't have license to diagnose. It can be a number of things. Your doc can help you.
