not all branches translate it like that, infact most think men and women are equal, two halves of a whole! only the fundamentalist or wierd ones... are you american? cos in england, i've never come across a church that thinks views like that... but im not a fundamentalist christian.
i hated my old church and stopped praying etc, because it was dull and pretentious and stuck in the 18th century, so i quit and just did nothing for a bit - but then i came across a bunch of teenagers and young adults who had created a worship group tht actually belonged in the 21st century.
so don't give up - stay away from the rubbish churches tht just give bad stereotypes. Find a decent church or group of friends to believe with. I think you'll find you are still just as good a christian, even if you don't bible-bash, hate gays/women/other religions and rant everyones ears off about eternal damnation

You don't want to join a religious group, but people who have a living faith in Jesus and who practice His love and compassion. From reading your other questions I can see that you are in a very unhappy situation.
You are an adult, you have your own apartment, so live your own life and not that of your mother's wishes.
Most importantly, deepen your relationship with Jesus and ask Him to guide you to people who will love, accept and help you in your situation.
Don't believe the lie that only your mother's church is the right one -- it obviously is a legalistic bunch of controlling people.

You can "adopt" your own philosophy of life (and believe in religious matters) without having to chain yourself to any sort of Church or affiliation. Check the Desiderata, if you wish. That is a good model.

you will on no account practice the absence of a greater physically powerful means. I even have been the place you're and you're chasing a rainbow. the opportunities of our existance being a results of mere hazard are unfathomable. to this point as a faith on your ideals, Wicca or Satanism sound quite appropriate. no be counted what you do however you will come to a query devoid of an answer.

Decide your own philosophy by which to live your life. It may even be a fundy christian faith, but may I ask you politely -- do not impose it on anyone else.
There are websites to help you, like "religious tolerance" . Or resources like "sacred texts".
Or even jokey quizzes like "Belief-O-Matic" on "beliefnet.com": but you will still have to decide for yourself.
