It just takes time. Go to a paint or hardware store and ask for a roller cleaning tool. It's a metal or plastic blade with a curve on one edge. You use it to scrape paint, etc. off the roller, and it really gets a lot out. After that, it's a process of wetting and rinsing the roller repeatedly. It can take 5 minutes to clean one this way, but if you get a good roller, and it does a good job, I think it's worth it.

One other thing - I had an uncle who was a professional painter. He had a roller spinner. He put the roller on one end of the spinner, and pumped a handle on the other end to make it spin fast inside a bucket. This threw off most of the water and paint on the roller. Unless you paint a lot, though, or you just like cool tools, you probably won't need one of these.

The besr method is to stand the roller on end under a running tap and use the back of a knife blade to scrape down the sides of the roller as you turn it slowly, and keep doing it until the water runs clear. You will be surprised how much paint comes off.

Use a Five in One tool. Take the round part of the tool and keep rolling it down the roller until most of the paint is out and then running water until the water runs clear. Be patient.

Well first you are going to need paint brushes(lots of sizes are helpful for different surfaces, corners, etc.), rollers (to paint walls),roller pans, some old newspapers or plastic to lay on your floor so you don't drip paint on it, and a few old rags or you can buy some paint cloths to wipe up paint if it spills on something. You will also want to wear some old clothes that you don't care about because no matter how hard I try I seem to get paint on something. lol. This is just about everything my dad and I use to paint houses, hope this is enough information for ya to paint your new home! and good luck. :)

Cleaning a roller always takes a long time, just keep running it under the tap and squeeze the fibres. You'll never be able to wash all the paint out.

Scrape all down the roller with a dinner knife or similar while holding it over the paint tin, this squeezes the paint out of it and makes it easier to wash- then hold it under plenty of running water

A roller nap is about $3.50 each, for the time and water wasted to clean it's cheaper to just throw away.
