you have a violation reporter watching you, many on this site who report questions and answers are lonely sad souls, they have no friends, they have no life and do not like anything funny, amusing, silly, true, important, entertaining or valid, if it goes against their rather bewildered and inane sensibilities.
I hope ALL violation reporters realise that what goes around comes around!!
now, just watch this answer get removed ASAP.

I know exactly what you mean. I was reported by someone because they did not like my answer to a question. My response was " I'm sorry but I do not know the answer.". The next day I get a message telling me that my answer had been reported and I was in violation of community guidelines and I lost like 20 points. Some people are just rude and do things like this just to do it. What I don't understand is how anyone could actually think I was in violation of anything. I even emailed them to appeal the violation and I never heard back from them. I don't even think that these people that are in charge of monitoring this website actually do their job all the time. Unfortunately, I don't think that there is anything that we can do. It just sucks.

There are people on here that will just randomly report someone's questions/answers for any ol' reason, even if there is nothing "abusive" about them. Then of course it will get deleted. Some people end up getting their entire Yahoo Account deleted without any notice because of getting to many so called "violations". Happened to someone I know that had done nothing "abusive". Kinda messed up no? I personally think that they (Yahoo Answers) don't really look at the person's profile/question/answer that is being reported they just get the report and have whatever it is, question, etc deleted. You aren't the only one that have had completely innocent questions deleted.

It's 10:32 AM in New England. I received a similar notice when I simply repeated the question for my answer. Go figure....
Edit: After more thought , I can see how a predator could use that kind of information to stalk his victim. Yahoo's been running this site a lot longer than we've been using it. I suspect they're just doing the best they can, even though we don't understand why they seem so arbitrary.

Now, I wouldn't have thought that your question could possibly be against community guidelines, but it seems that, technically, it is.
I really don't know why it ought to be, for all we know, you might have been trying to see how far apart everyone is based on time differences, or something.
But evidently, someone has studied those community guidelines with a microscope, looking for reasons to report people they don't like.

Did you read the Community Guidelines ? Did you read the Terms of Service ? The violation is obviously, OBVIOUSLY stated in them. That's what they told me anyway, every time, time after time, with no other explanation ever given, even after repeated emails to tell me exactly what the violation was. It's obvious, is all they will say. Then they will laugh to themselves. It never ceases to amuse them.

I've learned that there are a lot of narrow-minded people with narrow-minded perceptions who attack you for your answers, which in my own opinion is my opinion.
It's either you take or you leave it. Well here, some even lose sleep over it (you know who you are ) and think of ways to discredit you and maybe reporting is one type of revenge.
Oh and some people go thru great lengths to go thru all your answers and post something contrary to yours. Which in my view is pathetic.
Don't let those ******* get you down.

Read the community guidelines and for peace's sake stick within the guidelines or else that's what you're gonna get. I know, I know....it stinks, but the rules have to be followed.
