You could download a program that also has a virus or something like that. You should be careful when using LimeWire or any other programs that allow you to download things that you're not sure what they are coming from.
If you do suspect that you did get some type of infected file from LimeWire, you should run an adaware scan and a virus scan to be sure it's dealt with properly.

limewire isn't bad, just don't download applications, only download others, that will in turn, lower the risk of obtaining a virus from limewire. If you really want to download a application then download an anti virus (recommend:mcfee) then go to my computer/documents and settings/(your username)/shared
then find the application and right click on it and press scan for viruses

dont download a file that has a .EXE extension name, can be see at the three last part of the name of the file you were downloading also avoid downloading files in .RAR or .ZIP unless you have a virus scanner to scan it for malicous program/s. Scan your files that was obtain thru any FTP clients such as limewire before opening the file/s

you will end up with some really great music and some really awesome free movies.
besides that nothing. just be careful what you download. limewire has a program in it called Bitzi checker. use it to check each file before downloading if it says its a good file get it if it says its dangerous leave it alone and if it returns no evaluation dont download it.I use it and never got anything bad from them.
