Look, i really find it disturbing when people, especially self-help book authors, say that 'God is the one who blah blah', 'God will not permit blah blah blah'...

Because they did, then they should have seen God right? They should have knew about God. Some refers Him to the bible, and interpret its scriptures but somehow, everything just ends up in confusion. (?)

We are just humans. No matter how convincing, how nearly-divine, how genuine one's claims and ideas are about God, it's still not right to. God is not perceivable (who has seen God anyway?). And i believe the reason we never ever have seen, touched, tasted and heard of him is because he does not and never will show himself. Everything we say about God then "has no value".

Religious writings , therefore are useless, unless if you can't handle yourself coz ur so weak. Im a catholic. But i find so many flaws and conlflicts in its teachings. By that, i have assumed it's man-made.

There's more. The catholic church teaches us that undeserving people go to hell. But it also teaches that God is love and he loves everyone of us. Then why would someone be put to hell? Err? Just merely a contradiction to its own teaching, eh?

I was Catholic and I found that too much of what I had to do was decided by "the Church" - and all too little attention was paid to trying to become aware of God in our daily lives.

I think priests and religious writers - as well as self-appointed evangelicals - try to act like God because they are power-tripping. One's relationship with God doesn't require a priest, a religious writer, or some screaming nut of an evangelical radical. One's relationship with God is a direct and very personal affair.

"In the name of God the Most Merciful and Most Compassionate."

It is true that God has become hidden in the world.
There is a way to perceive God, if this is what ones true intentions are.

God can be seen only through Gods qualities.
Examples of these qualities are, Mercy, Compassion, Patience, Tolerance, Forgiveness, Modesty and this list contains 99 of the attributes of God.

Man by his very nature has turned Religion and Spirituality into a business. This is much like the moneychangers overtaking Gods temple in the days of Jesus (PBUH), and being eventually driven out of Gods temple.

There is a beautiful temple within man, and this is where true prayers are to be surrendered to God.
God has no flaws. The world has many flaws.
Don't let the flaws of the world get you down!

Go into the temple that God has so generously provided you and offer your prayers there.

I am so sorry you have never experienced God in any way tangible in your life, but many of us do. He is the same yesterday, today and forever. He has spoken to me, touched me, filled me and is continually teaching me and there are many like me. Perhaps if you stopped thinking about being a catholic and actually opened up your heart to Him you might find out just how real He is. God bless.

Uh the Catholic Church is certainly not the only one who believes in a punishment. God has revealed himself through the scriptures you are right humans can not fully understand God, or else we would be God, however, he did give us guidelines on how to live. Our best bet is to follow those guidelines.

God spoke to me once. All he ever said was that I didn't ever have to worry, because he was always there too help me. (I suffer from anxiety)

Most of what people "preach" about is what THEY EXPERIENCED with him.

God also spoke to someone I barely knew about me once and unless she was a psychic who could read my thoughts, God was telling her exactly what I had asked him in my own mind.

I also see God and his works everyday. I see him in my son. I see him when it's a beautiful day, Or a Rainbow in the sky.

These Religious writings are SOMEONE else's experiences with God, That no only do we follow, but we believe them because we know from our own experiences that it is right.

If you can't handle someone telling you about God and their experiences, with Grace and Understanding...Then maybe it's time you take a self inventory and maybe you'll see that it is you that is weak.

I imagine that you do find it disturbing. Your god is the devil and he detests God's Word. The devil hates christianity and is constantly using people ,such as yourself, to belittle God's teachings and His followers. The devil's chief aim is to keep you blinded so that you will never understand Truth, thereby losing your soul to hell. Gosh, I pray not for you. By the way, I'm not impressed, nor is God, that you "label" yourself a catholic. Please!!!!
